Quintin Hogg (1907-2001)

Quintin Hogg, lawyer and Conservative politician, disclaimed his peerage after 13 years in the Lords under the 1963 Act so he could resume a career in the Commons. He received a life peerage in 1970. He was Leader of the House of Lords between 1960 and 1963 and Lord Chancellor from 1970 to 1974 and 1979 to 1987.
