Marilyn Manson signs a new record deal with Nuclear Blast, sharing a clip that appears to feature the artist’s first new music since a wave of sexual abuse allegations hit in 2021.
Industrial shock rocker Marilyn Manson appears to be back in the studio after sharing a clip on social media to announce his signing to independent metal label Nuclear Blast Records, featuring what sounds like a new song.
The deal follows a wave of sexual abuse allegations and lawsuits filed against the musician, whose real name is Brian Warner, beginning in 2021. Manson hasn’t released new music since 2020’s We Are Chaos.
While it’s not clear if Manson will only release a new single or if a full album is in the works, a representative for Nuclear Blast confirmed the signing to Rolling Stone, adding that the signing is “heralding a new phase in the career of this iconic metal artist.”
Following the allegations against him, Warner was quick to drop several of his longtime business associates, including manager Tony Ciulla, his booking agent CAA, and his record label, Loma Vista.
In 2021, Manson’s ex-girlfriend, actress Evan Rachel Wood, accused him of sexual abuse. Shortly thereafter, nearly 15 other women — including the musician’s former assistant Ashley Walters, and actress and former girlfriend Esmé Bianco — came forward with similar allegations of sexual and psychological abuse.
Warner and his legal team have denied the allegations against him, and he has since settled some of the lawsuits out of court, including Bianco’s. Among the suits still pending include one in which the rocker was sued for sexual assault of a minor. Walters’ suit is set to go to court in Los Angeles in June 2025, after the previously dismissed case was revived on appeal.
Additionally, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department launched a criminal investigation into Warner, the findings of which were delivered to the district attorney in 2022. Still, the DA’s office has yet to announce whether criminal charges will be brought against him.
In March, it was announced that Marilyn Manson was preparing a return to the stage, opening for Five Finger Death Punch on their North American tour this summer. His schedule also includes a few headlining performances.
