Clarkton’s Memorial Day Parade Revives Community Spirit
This Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2024, the town of Clarkton proudly celebrated Memorial Day with its first Community Day Parade in 25 years. The parade was organized by Mayor Jerome Myers to honor the nation’s heroes and bring the community together in a show of patriotism and unity.

During its quarterly business meeting, the commission voted to request that the Division work with the Commission’s Habitat and Water Quality Advisory Committee to develop more comprehensive options for protecting Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) that consider all activities under the Commission’s authority, rather than just shrimp trawl area closures. UNCP to establish a Doctor of Optometry program

PEMBROKE, NC – The University of North Carolina Pembroke will soon be home to the state’s only public doctoral program in optometry––chartering a new path for comprehensive primary care for eye and visual health in North Carolina and surrounding states.
