Direct deposit and payday FAQ

To get started, you'll need to give your employer or other payers your:

  • Bank name: USAA Federal Savings Bank
  • Account type: Checking or Savings
  • Account number: This is available on your bank statements, checks, usaa.com and the USAA Mobile App. Your USAA member number is not your account number.
  • Routing number: 314074269

If you'd like a direct deposit form, select direct deposit.


We try to deposit your funds one to two days before your payday, but it can vary based on when your employer or payer sends us your pay details.See note1


If you have direct deposit, we will make funds available to you as payment information is provided to us by your employer or other payers, typically one to two days early. Eligible direct deposits that may be paid early include payroll, military pay, government benefits and pensions. Early access to direct deposit with USAA Federal Savings Bank is available at no cost for members who establish direct deposits on their bank accounts.See note1


No. Early access to direct deposit is available for USAA Federal Savings Bank members. All you need to do is set up direct deposit into your USAA FSB deposit account. Depending on when we receive notification from your employer or other payers, you can access your money one to two days ahead of your scheduled pay date.See note1


Not necessarily. Some employers or other payers may not always send payment notifications at the same time each pay cycle.


We can send you emails or text alerts on all deposit activity, including when you get direct deposits. To turn on your preferred notifications, go to "Delivery Settings" on My Profile and Preferencing page. Message and data rates may apply. Otherwise you can review all deposit activity on your account summary page on usaa.com or the USAA Mobile App.See note1
