Listen to Juice Newton’s ‘Angel of the Morning’ from The Morning Show, Season 2, Ep. 3

The Morning Show is back on Apple TV+ this Fall with Season 2, and with some cool music on its soundtrack, including Juice Newton’s ‘Angel of the Morning‘, which showed up on yesterday’s episode — The Morning Show, Season 2, Episode 2, “Laura”.

The song was heard during the last scene as Alex and Cory are watching the Laura Peterson interview.

American country rock singer Juice Newton’s ‘Angel of the Morning‘ is just one of the versions of the song recorded over the last 60-plus years, but it is the Newton version of the track that is its most popular and most famous.

Newton recorded ‘Angel of the Morning’ in 1981, and released the song the same year as the lead single from her self-titled sixth studio album.

It became an enormous hit for the singer, charting at #1 in the U.S. and Canada, and appearing high up on the charts in nine countries.

The song also earned Newton a Grammy Award nomination.

Newton’s version has also been licensed for play on many TV series, not just on The Morning Show, with plays on shows as diverse as Superstore, True Detective, Beauty and the Beast, Power, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Siren and The Leftovers, and on movies like Charlie’s Angels and Deadpool.

Listen to Juice Newton’s ‘Angel of the Morning‘ from yesterday’s The Morning Show in the song’s official music video and on her album Juice.

Her music video for the song, by the way, was the first country music video ever played on MTV. Cool, eh?

The Morning Show is currently airing on Apple TV+.
