William Hawks Obituary

William "Bill" Edd Hawks, 78, of Stokesdale, NC, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Bill retired from Johnson Controls after 28 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, listening to music, watching films, and spending time with his family.

Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret Hawks, of the home; his sons Tony Hawks (Lani) of Reidsville, NC, Brian Hawks (Elizabeth) of Kernersville, NC, Stephen Shumate (Paula) of Stokesdale, NC; daughter Tracie Gusler of High Point, NC; and siblings Cecil J Hawks (Wanda) of Wellford, SC, and Brenda Davis (Mike) of Winston-Salem, NC. Bill had four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill requested a private celebration of life event, which will be held at a later date. The family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

I´m sorry to hear of Bills passing. I haven´t seen him or heard anything about him in many years. I used to see him around and in Stokesdale when we were younger. He was always nice to me and had a hugh smile for his friends. Sincere sympathy and prayers to his family.
