BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Bergen County is full of unique places to eat. But there's one place special enough to make a list of 50 of "America's Best Restaurants 2023" in the New York Times — beating out all other eateries in New Jersey.

The Times released its new list on Tuesday, including four restaurants in New York City among the 50 they're "most excited about right now." They also included one in New Jersey — Fat Choy in Englewood.

Fat Choy, a Chinese and vegetarian eatery, just opened in August, the Times notes. And it's already made an impression.

"After a pandemic-era run in a tiny takeout spot on the Lower East Side, the chef, Justin Lee, relocated this summer to across the George Washington Bridge," writes reviewer Pete Wells. "Dishes such as Not Quite Beef and Broccoli, made with roasted mushrooms, and Mr. Lee’s homage to General Tso, in which battered fried cauliflower takes the place of chicken, will make instant sense to anyone who’s ever been to Panda Express."

The naming of Fat Choy even made the Jerusalem Post, which notes that the eatery is Kosher.
