When Katharina von Anhalt-Bernburg was born in 1332, in Bernburg, Anhalt, Germany, her father, Bernhard III. Fürst von Anhalt-Bernburg, was 41 and her mother, Agnes von Sachsen-Wittenberg, was 23. She married Magnus II. 'Torquatus' von Braunschweig-Lüneburg on 6 October 1356. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 8 daughters. She died on 30 January 1390, in Brunswick-Lüneburg, Holy Roman Empire, at the age of 58, and was buried in Hanover, Prussia, Germany.
