Marvel's Spider-Man PS4 is one of the most anticipated superhero games in recent years, coming from the newly-formed Marvel Games division within the overarching Marvel Entertainment brand - but like its Marvel Studios counterpart, does its blockbuster game have a post-credits scene? Coming off of Xbox exclusive Sunset Overdrive, Insomniac Games partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment to create the first title in what would become a new era of triple-A Marvel video games, leading into a potential Marvel Games Universe.

In addition to working with Insomniac and Sony on Marvel's Spider-Man, the Marvel Games branch has already announced a partnership with Square Enix to develop a brand new Avengers video game, which is currently being produced by Tomb Raider developers Crystal Dynamics, specifically through their new studio, Crystal Northwest. But that's not all. There are also rumors of Square Enix temporarily shelving their Deus Ex franchise to begin work on a Guardians of the Galaxy game. If that's true, then that means those games - or, at least the future of Marvel Games - could be teased in Spider-Man PS4.

Simply put - yes, Marvel's Spider-Man game has a post-credits scene. In fact, it has a mid-credits scene right after the credit animations roll, and then a post-credits scene, which comes at the very end of the full credits. But for the latter, players don't have to watch the entire credits stream; they can choose to skip the credits and go straight into the scene without worry of missing it - and trust us, you don't want to miss it. The game's set up for the end-credits scenes is exactly like what Marvel Studios has been doing for their Marvel Cinematic Universe movies for several years now.

Miles Morales talks to Spider-Man

While those in the know would be anticipating end-credits scenes that set up another Marvel game, such as one about Daredevil or Doctor Strange, seeing as those two characters were seemingly confirmed prior to launch via Easter eggs, it's worth noting that the scenes don't do that - which we can say without spoiling their content. At the same time, they don't tease the Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy games coming from Square Enix, the latter of which is reportedly being developed by the flagship Crystal Dynamics studio as well as Eidos Montreal - two studios that recently worked side-by-side on Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Instead, the post-credit scenes in Marvel's Spider-Man game tease a potential sequel that may result in even more superheroes and supervillains joining the burgeoning universe. But it's unclear if Insomniac Games will ever make a sequel, considering how long it took them to get this game on store shelves.
