Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, accompanied by daughter Shweta Bachchan, grandson Agastya Nanda, son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and granddaughter Aaradhya, joined Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities on day three but made the most of their time at the ceremony.

On Sunday, the Bachchans attended the last day of the three-day-long celebrations in Jamnagar and left for Mumbai the same day. Several videos of the family attending the event surfaced on social media, followed by their departure to Kalinga airport as they left for Mumbai. Aaradhya was seen holding her grandfather Amitabh’s hand. The Bachchan family’s absence on the previous two days of the celebrations had raised many eyebrows, however, the family coming together where Aishwarya was seen sharing a great bond other family members, has put the Abhishek and her divorce rumours to rest, at least for now.

Before the family flew back to the bay, they ensured they immersed themselves in the festivities. In one of the online videos, Aishwarya, Aaradhya, and Abhishek are seen swaying to the beats of the dhol tasha. At the event, Amitabh donned an off-white kurta-pyjama, complemented by a colourful shawl draped around him. Jaya Bachchan chose a beige saree and also carried a shawl. Abhishek and Aishwarya coordinated in cream traditional attire, and Shweta opted for a golden suit. Aaradhya Bachchan wore a white dress, while Navya, who had been a part of the festivities since day one, appeared in a colourful lehenga, and Agastya chose a cream sherwani.

Festive offer

Hours after attending the pre-wedding bash in Jamnagar, the Paa actor shared a post on being late on his blog. He also took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “T 4939 … late yes, but never the pretense.” In his blog, he shared his experience of attending the pre-wedding bash and visiting Vantara — the rehabilitation center for animals, helmed by Anant. He wrote that the visit was a “never-before-seen experience.” “The gates of Jalsa did not open on Sunday, but the gates of a wedding did occur, up to the location of the wedding and then back just now. It has to be said the experience was one never seen before, not just the atmosphere of the wedding, but the VanTara animal relief facility (sic),” he said. The customary Sunday darshan — where the mega star meets his fans — outside his residence did not take place as he was in Jamnagar.

He continued, “Goodness me, what an extraordinary experience and the most scientific setup for the animals that get maltreated, to be brought here at this farm and nurtured out of habitation. This is an experience only seeing can be believed, and no more details for the joy and ecstasy of the experience shall be driven away, but see you all must. And then the glory of the Shlokas, the chanting of the mantras, and the truly divine atmosphere and environment created by the hosts, simply incredible. So for now, it is a latish night (sic),” he added.
