Organisation aims / mission / values

  • OUR VISION: Every young person should have the chance to succeed.
  • OUR MISSION: To help young people transform their lives by developing the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.
  • GOAL 1: Be the best organisation. We will:. ➔ Become the best place to work, volunteer and support. ➔ Build a long term financially sustainable organisation. ➔ Move to fewer and better quality properties to support an efficient and flexible delivery model. ➔ Unleash our entrepreneurial spirit. ➔ Be the partner of choice.
  • GOAL 2: Help one million more young people over the next 10 years. We will:. ➔ Maximise our positive impact on young people’s lives; understand and report this impact. ➔ Become a more youth relevant brand. ➔ Be the first point of contact for young people who need us most. ➔ Develop a Prince’s Trust passport for every young person we progress. ➔ Increase the speed and effectiveness of support, with a more flexible mix of online and face to face delivery. ➔ Move from a programme driven to young person led approach.
  • GOAL 3: Give young people an increasing stake in our economy and society. We will:. ➔ Introduce a UK2030 taskforce to identify practical solutions for government, employers, educators and young people which are acted upon. ➔ Help young people prepare for the new economy and society by creating highly relevant services through strong partnerships. ➔ Listen to young people and involve them in shaping our and their future. ➔ Mobilise our society behind young people as a force for good, inspiring our expanding community of supporters.

How we deliver these aims

Every day, our inspirational young people take the opportunity to change their lives for the better. We’re proud of the 870,000 young people whose lives we’ve touched over the past four decades. Phidizz, 26, was determined to turn his life around to give himself a positive future in the music industry: School was not a happy experience for Phidizz. He found it hard to make the transition to secondary school. He got involved with petty crime and anti-social behaviour and was affiliated with a gang by the age of 14. He was permanently excluded from school by the age of 15 and homeless by the age of 17. “I knew I couldn’t carry on like this, so moved from my area to Leicester where I was introduced to my mentor Yasin, who also runs a recording studio and record label. He was working on Talent Match with The Prince’s Trust and saw the potential in me and my love of music. Through his support I was able to leave my previous life behind and put all my energy into music. “Yasin’s help has inspired me to help others through my music – I’m now training to be a peer mentor and I volunteer for The Prince’s Trust – sharing my story with other young people.

Who benefits from our work

We believe that every young person should have the chance to embrace exciting opportunities. So, we help 11 to 30 year-olds to find the tools and confidence to try free courses and start careers.
