Google Zipper – Unzip the Doodle

Google celebrated the birthday of Swedish-American engineer Gideon Sundback on April 24, 2012. Sundback is known for an important part he played in the development of the zipper. Even so, Google didn’t just make a normal Doodle to celebrate; they added a fun touch with the Google Zipper Easter egg.

This hidden feature added a fun and unexpected touch to Google’s home page. Instead of the usual Google logo, people who went to the site saw a huge, interactive zipper. The magic began when I clicked on it! When the zipper “unzipped” the Google logo, search results about Gideon Sundback and his invention showed up.

Google Zipper was a fun tribute to the person who came up with the idea for a simple but useful everyday item: the zipper. By adding a sense of fun and surprise to the usually simple act of doing an online search, it showed how creative Google is.

Google Zipper was only on the Google homepage for a short time, but it shows how the company likes to mix technology and creativity in interesting ways. This is an example of how Google occasionally surprises and pleases users with these cute Easter eggs.

If you want to take a fun trip back in time to 2012 and remember how much fun it was to unzip a Google logo, Google Zipper is the perfect app for you.
