Matthew J. Evans

A 2021 magna cum laude graduate of Cal State, Long Beach, with a Bachelor of Music Performance in Jazz Studies, Matthew J. Evans has been a professional performer since he was a child. In 2011, Matthew played Garrett Tiara opposite Cameron Diaz in Columbia Pictures feature comedy Bad Teacher for which he received a 2012 Young Artist Award in Los Angeles.

Matthew has appeared in a number of TV series episodes including Scrubs, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, King of Queens, Cavemen, Drake & Josh, and Zoey101. In 2013 he appeared as Irish exchange student Alistair on Disney XD series, Lab Rats, for which he won another Young Artist Award. In 2014, he also guest starred as high school bandleader Ross on Disney's comedy series I Didn't Do It.

Whether acting in feature films, or playing bass in jazz ensembles, Matthew delivers his performances with expertise, vitality, and style. As a professional bassist and singer, he has earned praise for his outstanding ability to engage an audience with his charisma, originality, and professionalism. Matthew has performed with renowned musicians including Charlie Shoemake, Andy Martin, Doug McDonald, Mel Martin, and Mads Tolling. As a student, he had the opportunity to play with Jeff Hamilton, Ernie Watts, Eric Marienthal, and Bob Reynolds.
