Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted for this course as I was interested in International relations and it's one of the best universities for the same. Teachers are excellent and with fewer few students, the faculty gives attention to each one of the students. One needs to pay thorough attention in class to pass the term exam. All teachers are well qualified and have excellent research experiences.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

Fee Structure is minimal anyone can opt for the course, otherwise, there are a number of scholarships, merit-based and in form of assistantship which students can avail themselves to help themselves financially. There is a merit-based scholarship offer to the first five students who scored well in the entrance exam and studentship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because of my interest in IR and foreign policies of the countries and international organizations. All in all, it was a good experience. The faculty is nice and diligent. Exams were always held on time. Though the number of subjects is extensive at Amity it is worth it.

Internships Opportunities:

I am glad to say that I got my hands on one of the best internships via Amity. I got a chance to work at the Ministry of Social Justice. I was working on a pilot project. Apart from that, Amity has tie-ups with various organizations and think tanks such as, VIF, Ministries, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Masters of International Relations has a lot of scope in the coming years. And also I was really interested in this course. We have 1 teacher with over 35 students. The faculty is highly qualified with a lot of expertise and knowledge. The teaching methods are amazing here at AMITY UNIVERSITY. Although the faculty burdens the students with a lot of assignments and task it is somewhat helpful to us. The exams are not that tough. It is easy to pass.

Placement Experience:

I actually plan to go abroad and study. I am not sure about the placement cells and the internships. The average package ranges from 1.5 lakh to 5 lakh, which isn't that great because the fee structure of the college is a bit expensive in contrast to the placement the college offers. I have heard that companies like MICROSOFT, INDIGO, WIPRO are partners of this University.

The professors are friendly and are very Frank to having to ask any queries to and the marking structure is also very smartly formed. Over all I'm quite satisfied with the curriculum. And there are various exposures given to the students. Such as debates, MUNs, paper presentations and so on.

Placement Experience:

The job opportunities are favourable. Although there aren't much job opportunities for the Humanities based courses but the engineering side gets quite good opportunities for placements and all. I wished in Humanities also they would offer such placements and jobs but there isn't any as of now.

Campus Life:

The infrastructure was good but there is still scope for further improvement in near future. The library is good enough but there should be more books which can help the students in the near future - I hope the administration would look into it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Course was updated but it should have been more updated. The faculty no doubt was very good and gave us a lot of exposure to the changing scenario of international relations - I do hope the faculty will remain so.

College Events:

Jadavpur University is known for its campus life. It's a home, away from home. Starting from random street performances, to brilliant artwork on walls, students beautifully playing instruments at Worldview to Sanskriti, IRSC, JUMUN, and so on, the campus life that Jadavpur offers is indeed unparalleled.

Remarks:

Jadavpur University is a brilliant educational institute and is highly sought after. International Relations, my subject of choice, is not offered in many universities across the country. That is why I wanted to specifically try and join this University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

From our batch B. A International relations 2017-20 a new syllabus was introduced which is the CBCS syllabus which focuses more on the important topics needed to study International relations and also had made additions like choosing of Special papers. Jadavpur University department of International Relations has the best faculty of experienced professors in India.

College Events:

The campus life is totally different than what others actually think of Jadavpur University. The Campus feels like a second home to all of us. We have Sanskriti which is our annual fest held by all three faculties (Science, Arts and engineering) in the month of March-April.

Remarks:

One of the best Universities offering specialization in International Relations at a very less amount with the best faculty members. Attendce is not compulsory- a benefit that allows many students to pursue internship alongside their regular course. I opted for the course especially to pursue my career either in Civil service or in the teaching profession. It's a course that has enabled me to understand more about the affairs of the international world. The tendency to continuously learn about what's going around us what's happening across the globe, to research and learn about diverse issues and their underlying core dimensions. The tendency to learn more and more about new issues and offering solutions to it. The journey of this 2year full time degree has been about researching on diverse topics, know the underlying root causes of the issues. International affairs has always been about challenging the world and this course has enabled me to understand these challenging concepts.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course has always been an updated one. In fact our professors have time and again instructed us to keep a check on current affairs and include them as much as possible in the answers. Regular interactive sessions on current affair topics were a part of class discussions. We were provided enough industrial exposure to research on current topics and that has been immensely helpful. Faculties especially to name a few Prof Kakoli Sengupta, Prof Iman Kalyan Lahiri Prof Abdul Matin have always undertaken initiatives that provided enough exposure to us. They always directed their topics to relate those with current issues across the nation and the globe. They have been the best professors ever.

College Events:

The scope of events and extracurriculars are a lot. The authority is very friendly and lend out help to the student community for organising fests. The events in the university are amazing. There are wonderful events named INDAK and IBTIDA tht are solely organised by the student community.

Campus Life:

The campus is very spacious. The greenery is commendable. But the washrooms are very dirty and the overall hygiene of the campus is not very splendid. The university authority must look into it for the safety of the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will speak for the department of social sciences as I am a student there. After JNU, I would say there is no other place to pursue IR than SAU. The curriculum remains up to date and teachers for IR are all JNU PHDs or Foreign PHDs. They pay good salaries to teachers and hence retain the best.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

Fee is subsidized by eight governments namely India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives. The fee is 2 lakh rupees for whole PG. For students outside of NCR free hostels are available. Books are subsidized and many research portals are accessible to students for free.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of my major, International relations is up to date. It covers all the major issues and theories of past and of the present dates. The curriculum of first two semesters is more focused on the theory part to give students a good understanding of subject and lay down the foundation of basic principles of IR. however the next two semester is focused heavily on the research part, from teaching research methodologies to writing a dissertation independently under a supervisor from the faculty. The grades will be evaluated based on your performance in surprise quizzes, term papers, two tests . however in the last two semesters, you have to write a thesis or do research along with all above mentioned things to pass the semester.

Placement Experience:

I can only speak on the behalf of my major. SAU doesn?t provide any internship . however with the IR major, you can easily do many internship around the capitol city , around the country and even around the globe. There are many major prominent think tanks in Delhi, like NMF, ICWA etc which offers summer internships or you can write for an newspaper or foreign affairs magazines. Even tho SAU doesn?t provide any internship or job, but the faculty members through their networks can help you with internship and job process

Admission:

Known of its systematic and smooth process of admission, SAU has not been much of a difficulty with the admissions. I had 50%+ aggregate marks in my bachelor's degree under North Bengal University. SAU held an entrance university test. I cleared it and I was granted my admission here.

Faculty:

The faculty of SAU is highly qualified and very helpful to their students. The teachers have practiced professionally in their respective fields. They are also very helpful and are always open to their students about any matter regarding the studies and as well as the daily life.

Entrance Preview:

I had given the SAU entrance test for MA in International Relations. The entrance test for my program as well as others like Sociology, Economics, Applied Mathematics etc. are conducted annually. Each program has specific entrance test, so if you want to pursue Sociology you have to specifically choose Sociology and give its entrance exam. Its not like BITSAT where streams are given according to marks. Also its a PG college so it does not have undergraduate programs as of yet. Apart from that generally there are 30 seats each in every PG course. 15 are reserved for Indians while other 15 are reserved for those coming from other SAARC nations such as Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Nepal etc. I was selected in the merit list and took admission. My score was not revealed. I choose IR because I liked the subject and wanted to pursue it further

Campus Life:

Gender ratio is skewed in International relations towards males while in sociology it is skewed in favor of females. That is with regards to 2017-19 batch. I can only speculate about other batches. Student/Dorm parties do occur, despite presence of Pakistanis and Afghans there are queer and LGBTQ events that also happen. Tolerance is there and let just say hijab wearing Afghans and Shorts wearing Sri Lankans live side by side together. The relations until now are amicable between all. There is a vigilant discipline enforcement committee and sexism and racism are generally not tolerated
