Kazembe Ajamu Coleman is more than just the father of award-winning actress Zendaya. The father-of-six has an impressive résumé after making a name for himself in various industries.

The one thing that most people already know about Kazembe Ajamu Coleman is that he was Zendaya's manager. However, Coleman has accomplished a lot in his life, so it might not be surprising that he has a daughter with varied talents.

Coleman ensured he guided his daughter as she started her career and protected and encouraged her in every way. So besides being a supportive dad, who is the man behind the famous actress and singer?

Kazembe Ajamu Coleman was born in Oakland, California. According to Zendaya's post from 2017, her dad was born on February 10. He is of Nigerian, Icelandic, and Macedonian ancestry, with his mother's family coming from Nigeria and his father's family from Macedonia and Iceland.

Coleman was born Samuel David Coleman but later changed his name to reflect his African ancestry. His current name has a special meaning; Kazembe means "he is an ambassador," and Ajamu translates to "God of strength."

One of Coleman's professions was teaching, which Zendaya's mother also does. In fact, Zendaya's parents' dedication to their professions inspired her a lot while growing up. The star once revealed that she would have become a teacher if she had not gone into the entertainment industry.

Coming from a background where both parents were teachers and a lot of importance was placed on learning, one would think Coleman would have talked his daughter out of being in show business; however, he did the opposite.

Coleman's famous daughter has been vocal about realizing the significance of education from an early age and how her parents made her appreciate it more.

Coleman prioritized his daughter's dreams and aspirations and decided to become Zendaya's manager. Clearly, there is nothing this fantastic dad would not do for his lovely daughter. His belief and support may be some of the reasons why Zendaya became such a huge success.

According to his Instagram page, which has over 20,000 followers, Coleman is also a music producer. His social media gives insight into his life and work.

KAZEMBE AJAMU COLEMAN'S FAMILY

Kazembe Ajamu Coleman and Zendaya's mother, Claire Stoermer, were together for many years before getting married in 2008. They welcomed their daughter Zendaya way before they tied the knot.

In 2016, Stoermer filed for divorce, leaving her husband of eight years. It is great to see that despite the pair going their separate ways, they are co-parenting amicably and are both supportive of their daughter's career.

Coleman has six children in total. Zendaya is very close to all her siblings and is sometimes seen out and about with them. She has two brothers, Austin Stoermer Coleman and Julien Stoermer Coleman, and three sisters: Katianna Stoermer Coleman, Anabella Stoermer Coleman, and Kaylee Stoermer Coleman.

Zendaya is the most well-known child among Coleman's brood. She is an award-winning actress and singer who has become a household name. She revealed in 2015 that her sister Katianna is one of her biggest influences and looks up to her. She confessed:

"I look up to my big sister and realize the influence she's had on me [in] making me a better person. Having such a big, grounded family, I realized as you get older how important that is."

Austin is the oldest among the siblings. He doesn't post a lot on social media; however, he is reportedly an actor. Next in line is Katianna, who Zendaya admires and has expressed gratitude for having a big sister like her.

Coleman's other daughter, Annabella, appears to be quite close with her siblings. Julien is Coleman's second son. Not much is known about him, as he does not have a social media presence.

Kaylee is the youngest of the Coleman siblings. Kaylee has appeared on the red carpet with her big sister Zendaya. Coleman is also a grandfather, as his other daughters have children. Zendaya has said she enjoys spending time with her sisters' kids.

KAZEMBE AJAMU COLEMAN AND ZENDAYA'S RELATIONSHIP

Kazembe Ajamu Coleman and Zendaya have a very close relationship. The father-daughter duo is often seen on the red carpet together.

They have such a fantastic bond that Zendaya's father even sang with her when she was too embarrassed to perform at a school concert.

Zendaya is protective of her dad and mom as she defended her parents when a Twitter user called her parents "ugly" back in 2015.

WHAT IS KAZEMBE AJAMU COLEMAN DOING NOW?

Kazembe Ajamu Coleman seems to be a very busy man. His Instagram page bio reads, "CEO, ETA,5Tre The Blade. KZC Inc. Mgr Consultant, Performance Coach, Music Producer." The father-of-six has been spotted hanging out with top musicians in the past.

Zendaya's father called out Hollywood for how the industry has seemingly "shunned" the Black fathers of successful daughters. Taking to his Instagram account, Coleman posted an image of his daughter in early 2022 with the caption, "Black fathers are too often shunned for having successful daughters in Hollywood, Matthew Knowles, King Richard, and Kazembe Ajamu."

Despite what may be happening in Hollywood, we are happy that Coleman and Zendaya have such an amazing relationship.
