The cozy and romantic ambiance, paired with the beautiful decor, made it a perfect spot for a special evening. The service was amazing, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful dining experience. The food was classic Italian. For those seeking a charming restaurant, Giacomo Bistro is a fantastic choice.

The Rip off by definition. A friend of our who visited Milan for the day and evening asked me for some recommendation for diner and one was Giacomo where I had not been in ages. I thought the location, season, evening and type of Milanese cuisine was ideal. Well I felt so embrassed for the bad choice. Our bill reached more than €550 in three with one starter and one meat to share + one bottle of wine. My husband ordered the wine, a simple and easy Valpolicella at €50 the bottle but for some reason the waiter wasn't convinced of my husband's choice and rather suggested a Pinot Nero from Trentino at €80. Then my husband's starter, a tiny mini tartar arrived that we shared in one fork each, so we added to that a plate of Cinta di Siena which was dry, baddly cut, and practically only fat. Then since there was not much choice (no tagliata) on the menu if we wanted a small and simple meat, we decided to share a piece of meat, and being in 3, we opted for a Tomahawk steak , after waiter's advise. We finished dinner with a coffee each (anda total of 4 bottles of water). The bill arrived with a shocking 550 EUR. In the bill they indicated two tomahawk steaks since (for some technical reason, the waiter said) when the weight of one piece of meat reaches more that 800gr, the computer cannot take it so they have to bill two pieces of meat (??) . The bill reached more than €550. I felt terribly guilty for the pick of the restaurant, terribly embrassed and ashamed to have suggested such a place in a city that has so such an so great choice and variety of good restaurants. Never again Giacomo !

This place has an amazing ambience, very baroque, very italian, very special.
The food is authentic and delicious. The Milanese cotolet is a must try and the pasta as well.
The service is good.
For sure a reservation is required!

Terrible hospitality from the restaurant manager.
He had asked for the table to be returned in 75 minutes. However, the mains only arrived after 75 minutes and he still asked us to return the table. Give this place a miss! There’s plenty of other places who would welcome your business and treat you 100% better!

Visited purely by mistake as it’s only round the corner from the original
‘Da Giacomo’ but judging by the whiff of rat poison pervading the place this is not somewhere to recommend at all !

Went to Giacomo for a business dinner. It started with my guess sitting with a large plant impeding his space and basically on top of his head. Even with a slight attempt to move the plant by the waiter, it was still in an annoying position.
Decided on starters and tried the King Crab all'arancia e pomodoro Camone which was ok. Not great, not bad. Decided to do the Barbina franciacortine fiorentina steak as 2 people needed to order this.
For 75 euros each, I expected much more. Very unevenly cooked. Not tender. Lots of gristle. Basically, I have cooked a better London Broil at home. Live and learn.
The wine was fine. The desserts were average at best. The dark chocolate ganache was "meh-minus". Service was not great either especially as it got busier as the evening went on. Will likely not return. Sorry guys......

Great service from start to finish. Although we were late, they were able to hold a table outside, which was very fitting. All the waiters were very helpful and happy to answer any queries. The food was exceptional and the manager even proposed to ask the Chef if he could prepare us something off menu (which he did and it was great)! Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough, very authentic and really unique decoration inside. A must try bistro in Milan.

I came for dinner on a friday evening for my birthday and it was amazing.
We booked our table at 9.45pm so we had enough time to enjoy few negroni at Giacomo Tabaccheria, which is just opposite from the Bistrot.
We arrived at 9.50pm and the staff took us to our table in the, what they call it, "paravento area", very cosy space.
We ordered a bottle of wine, a started and a main each, we finished with a double chocolate cake and a bomba di giacomo (omg to die for).
The portion of the food were just perfect, we've left full, but not overstuffed.
My friends told our waiter that it was going to be my birhtday at midnight, so they put on Raffaella Carrà right at 12 and all the stuff came to the table with a candle...super fun!!!
Looking forward to come back!!!

My friend and I had a wonderful evening in the Giacomo Bistrot. We sat in the non-library part of the restaurant, near the bar. Right from the start, the staff was welcoming and the vibe was excellent. We shared a great starter, followed by pasta with truffles and dessert. We were really taken care of all evening. Especially the director was both attentive and knowledgeable. We ended up staying until closing time. Mostly locals, which is a bit plus. It was the best evening of our entire trip.

At the beginning everything was smooth and adequate to expectations
After 9PM the Place is getting crowded and somehow noising. To many people were moving around.
Food quality was of a good le elezioni: pasta cacio e pepe and plin web really good.Less impressive the rosted fish and lamb sella.
Excellent but expensive wine: 50 euro for a Tramin gervurtztraminer.
In conclusion, there are more attractive alternatives in Milan

We were having a dinner amongst friends and were surprised right away by the unprofessional service.
We were being served by the restaurant director and he appeared unqualified and intrusive, which ended up slowing down the service, affecting our experience negatively.
We were seated in a private room and when asked to put some music on, they put on what was probably a YouTube channel where commercials kept popping up between songs, and random metal songs kept coming on. Very random and unpleasant.
The food was very good but doesn’t justify the incredibly elevated price. We shared some appetizers, one course each (to be fair, some of us ordered truffle pasta) and shared a few desserts. Including wine, dinner ended up being €120 per person, which is completely unjustified for a traditional Milanese dinner, even though 1/3 of us had had a truffle dish.
If I have to pay that sort of price in Milan, where great food and good service come at a reasonable price unlike other cities, I expect impeccable service to say the least.
Definitely would not recommend, will not be coming back again.

If I’m going to pay such an outrageously high price for a typical Milanese dinner, I’m expecting the service to be perfect.
Instead, we found the staff - the director especially, who was waiting for us that night - to be quite incompetent.
The restaurant is very beautiful and the food is good, but that definitely doesn’t justify the incredibly high prices.
Would not recommend.
