- Melissa LHinckley, OhioIn summer rent a pontoon or paddle boat to relax and see the beautiful lake and local wildlife. Walk around the 3 mile fitness path that surrounds the lake. Have a picnic using one of the açaí grills. Kids can play on the swing set. Lots of natural views among the 50 ft oaksWritten July 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Paul SMarionTwo trails converged in a wood and I took the one less travelled by. Yes, I was channelling my inner Robert Frost as I hiked around Whipp's Ledges on a fall weekend. It is easy to forget you are within the Cleveland metro area because this part of the huge Hinckley Reservation is far less crowded than the lakes and spillway or buzzard roost areas. The formations are a result of the same erosion resistant rock layer found to the better known Hocking Hills south of Columbus. We were fortunate to see deer, a coyote (yes they are found in the Cleveland area), and a raccoon. Be prepared for route finding as the Whipps Ledges loop trail is very poorly marked. Even the section of the Buckeye Trail that runs along the top of the ledges is indistinct in places. Lots of great photo ops of narrow slits and slots and sheer drops from the top. Be careful to stay back from the edges as a fall in most places would be fatal. You can hike the loop from the bottom of the ledges picnic area off State Road as we did, or drive around a little ways to the top of the ledges and hike from there. The trail and the views are the same either way. Again be very careful especially now as leaves have fallen and can make footing slippery both going uo and down. Not accessible and not a good ideas in inclement weather, but well worth it for those who are completely mobile and aren't afraid of heights.Written November 3, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - This course is challenging but fair. Greens are fast and overall layout is nice. They keep making improvements every year. Newly remodeled clubhouse last year. No houses along course which improves experience. Play is generally fast.Written February 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Discover468486Cleveland, OHIf you have back issues stay off the so-called “cart path”
on the front nine. Over 40+ yrs of playing golf its the worst I have ever seen. The course itself was in decent condition for this time of yr (mid-Sept).Written September 11, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Would it be crowded, impersonal, tons of fun, we just didn't know. So, our foursome was so pleasantly surprised with a really fun, affordable indoor golf alternative! We were greeted kind of awkwardly, as a sign just said to "go to the back bar" for service. Having never been there, we didn't know where that was, but it wasn't far, and we found it. From there, it was great. Our host took our drink orders and showed us to the simulator, which was right across the hall from the bar, so it was really convenient. She showes us how to work the machine, and gave us some tips on how to score better. From there, we just played golf like normal. You get to select from a number of skill levels and golf courses from aroun the world. It was really fun! Sure, the putting could have been a little more user-friendly, and if your ball even just grazed a tree limb it got knocked down, but it was really not that far off from actual golf. It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get the swing of it, you start scoring better pretty quickly. We will definitely go back here in the cold weather. Oh, and the staff was really friendly, and this place is not stuffy, which is kind of what we were looking for.Written March 25, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
