So I was messing about with it yesterday, didn't really know what I was doing, I think I've clicked on "returning user" (however. I am not) and didn't realise until last night that there is a tutorial via stranger aka jake.
I'd like to do the tut, how do I go about resetting it so I can do the tut please

Do you have the quest still? Even if you picked returning user, the questlines (first few quests are tutorials) are still available.

I think you're fine. When you're ready to start Sim Settlements, build the radio tower and Jake will come to you. He'll initiate the tutorial from there.
I built the tower today, after watching the video last night, and he hasn’t came, hence my panic
