Klaatu planned to record three new songs for the compilation, two written by Dee Long (Been Here Before) and one written by another member.[1]

The cover of Peaks was painted by Terry Watkinson, a member of Max Webster and Klaatu's live keyboardist. The artwork now resides at Terry Draper's home, Swamp Manor.[2]
