Vision Of Disorder

About Vision Of Disorder

Vision of Disorder are a hardcore band from Long Island, New York. The band formed in 1992 and gain attention through their pioneer blending of the hardcore and thrash/groove metal styles.

The band is often referred to simply as V.O.D. and released three albums in the 1990’s before dissolving in 2002. Their first two albums, Vision of Disorder and Imprint were with Roadrunner Records. They garnered commercial success and critical praise; however, the band were unhappy with Roadrunner’s lack of tour support and production quality after Imprint.

Their third album, From Bliss to Devastation, was released in 2001 through TVT Records and marked a new musical direction. The new direction saw the band adopt more traditional verse-chorus-verse songwriting structures and a sound to capture the growing nu-metal scene that was exploding at the time. The new album did not have the commercial success of the previous releases and a year after its release the band disbanded.

In 2008 the band briefly reunited for a three song live set. Due to the positive response from the crowd and social media support, they subsequently decided to reform Vision of Disorder.

However, it wasn’t until 2011 that they released any new material on The Cursed Remain Cursed with Candlelight Records. It garnered generally favourable reviews as it was seen as a return to the hardcore styles of their first two albums. This album was followed up in 2015 with the release of their fifth album, [Razed to the Ground] also with Candlelight Records.

Matt Baumbach on guitars left the band in 2013 and was replaced by Josh Demarco who played guitars on Razed to the Ground. This is the only line-up change the band has undergone since their founding.

The current band lineup is:

Tim Williams (vocals)
Mike Kennedy (guitar)
Josh Demarco (guitar)
Mike Fleischmann (bass guitar)
Brendon Cohen (drums)
