Viewing 4th of July Fireworks

Are there any public spots in Astoria where you can see the 4th of July fireworks on the east river on Sunday or are we just too far? I'm wondering if would be able to see anything from Rainey Park or the Costco parking lot. Taking the subway/bus down to the LIC waterfront seems like it will be a big headache trying to get back to Astoria with the crowds.

The Astoria park fireworks just happened…but if there are others for the Manhattan crowd you might be able to see from Randall’s or Roosevelt island depending on where the show is.

You have to have a view high enough to see over Queens View.
