It’s a horrible school. Many kids fight and curse at the teachers. Staff are pick me’s when it comes to whom they want to give their time to. The bad kids get everything while the good and smart decent kids get mistreated. Some classrooms smell like weed and bathrooms are always disgusting. Most of the staff promotes the fact that they are aware and don’t care that many of the students will become future delinquents that rob,do drugs, and are apart of gangs. The other day, as I was going to the gym, one of the staircases had a huge pool of pee and the staff didn’t care. The fights are the worst part. Once there was a fight that involved a punch off and some kid got beaten up so badly that there was a blood bath. Staff didn’t call the police and they quickly cleaned it up. Many of these kids get brutally beaten up and they don’t even get any consequences. All of their violence should’ve been recorded in their permanent records. There’s much more gruesome actions that take place.
My first year was a bit rough. It was during COVID, so I didn't get to have an in- person experience 9th grade year. As time went on, I've enjoyed building connections and meeting new people. I've received different opportunities that have exposed me to different things. One of the worst parts about my experience is the stress that comes with taking important test. Ultimately, I didn't so the best on all of my tests. One thing I would like to add in order to improve the school is adding different clubs, more sports and trips. I would also change our food choices when it comes to lunch.
While listening to a lecture, reading a book, or completing a homework assignment remain “learning experiences,” students are now learning in different ways than they have in the past and in a wider variety of outside-of-school settings, such as through internships, volunteer activities, or dual-enrollment programs.
