Wilder finds an unexpected chance at stardom: enter the glitter and spandex-laden world of women's wrestling, where she must work alongside 12 other Hollywood misfits. Kai Choyce Autostraddle GLOW does so many things right, but if the show is aiming for true diversity and female empowerment, rendering queer women as either mythical mutants, ambiguous, or invisible is definitely not that way to accomplish that goal. Oct 5, 2021 Full Review Cassidy Dawn Graves Bitch Media At times, GLOW is over-the-top in tone, but it consistently shows the rigorous work that goes into keeping wrestling safe, especially for those who've never done it before. Mar 1, 2021 Full Review Lauren Carroll Harris Guardian With Madonna-meets-Xanadu art direction, Glow creates a vivid world of high-cut leotards and failed ambition. Jul 30, 2019 Full Review Fiona Flynn entertainment.ie We don't doubt there is plenty more to come from these Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling and we'll want to be ringside every step of the way. Jan 2, 2020 Full Review Li Lai Mediaversity Reviews GLOW tries to be too clever, commenting on stereotypes by employing them satirically yet never quite putting their money where their mouth is-by actually developing their characters of color. Rated: B- Aug 5, 2019 Full Review Gem Seddon SFX Magazine For a show that's based on wrestling, the main heft of what's so enjoyable isn't about the sport at all, but the circumstances of these women. Brett V Very Cheesy. The 80's music and genre is cool but the plot is a joke. Allison Brie is fun to watch, but so is watching your car go through a car wash. The rest of the cast is weak at best. I have no idea why this got positive critic and audience reviews. They must have been submitted during Covid where just about anything was entertaining. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/27/23 Full Review Zoe K Poor version of the actual TV show. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/03/23 Full Review Rhianna J Even though I'm late to the party in reviewing this one I'm still sad it was cancelled before the 4th season. Such a waste of a good cast. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review Alan M I enjoyed the first two episodes after which the storyline started to lose my interest, I'm disappointed that I couldn't rekindle my interest sufficiently to watch anymore of the show. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review G M The best series on Netflix. So much nostalgia and sparkles! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review c h Fun ensemble dramedy about the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling who were a cable tv attraction in the 70s. Well-defined characters with interesting back stories and all the goofy absurdity of women learning to wrestle and put on a show. Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, and Marc Maron are excellent leads. I think Season 1 is the best of the series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
