While visiting Switzerland, an American college professor, Adam, keeps running into a divorced British secretary, Patricia, wherever they go. First their cars collide. Then they smash into one another on a ski slope, each breaking a leg. In between numerous quarrels, the two develop lust and love. They hastily marry, but the disagreements continue. Patricia decides to leave, so Adam decides to fake a suicide. They lose and find each other, again and again.

Glenda Jackson and George Segal reteam after their big hit, A Touch of Class (which I've never seen). These two clash and gel together nicely here, but this was nowhere as big of a success as their first movie.
Starts off very rom-com-ish with the meet cute scenario of crashing into each other repeatedly at a ski resort. They impulsively get married and then meet one roadblock after another. Not super funny, but extremely watchable, with a nice retro flavor.
Watch for John Candy as a Frenchman, and his fellow SCTV alum, Martin Short, making his movie debut as a smartass college student.
Shoddy script and I will forget it instantly but Segal & Jackson are good so I don't know, watch it once if you like em but don't make it a priority.
I watched this solely for John Candy, and he was only in it for ten seconds. Literally. The rest of the movie is fine, yet not really worth watching. There’s just nothing interesting here. It’s just two people fighting.
UPDATE: Glenda Jackson is so annoying it’s hard to watch.
I watched this last week but forgot to log it. I thought it was cute, to be honest. I have no baseline, having not seen A Touch of Class, so to me it was just a pretty good rom-com from 1979 starring 2 actors I like to see.
RIP George Segal. I definitely have a bunch of George Segal movies I need to circle back on and finally see.
I was quite disappointed by romantic dramedy "A Touch of Class," particularly since it featured George Segal and boasted an Academy Award winning performance from Glenda Jackson. I had heard that the sequel wasn't much better but thought I'd give it a chance anyway, just to see how the screenplay bent over backwards to reunite these two characters after the first film ended with splitting them up. Imagine my surprise when this film began with Segal and Jackson meet-cute by running each other's cars off a snowy road and plummeting off a cliff. The near fatal accident was considerably less surprising than the revelation that these two are meeting each other for the first time. Hey! This isn't a sequel…

A Touch of Class is one of my favourite movies, so this turned out to be pretty disappointing. Glenda Jackson and George Segal are good - the chemistry still works - but the script was pretty poor and very thin on laughs.
I nodded off in the middle, not sure I want to revisit it to see if I missed anything worthwhile.
Ugh. I remember really liking this movie as a kid. My dad would go away one week each summer and almost always the air conditioner would go kaput so my mom & I would go see the dollar movie at the mall repeatedly. I remember seeing this multiple times that way though I only remembered the dancing bit.
It is complete shite. I hope I didn't REALLY like her staying. Ugh. Me back then would have given it minimum 3 stars, but fuck that. And I bought the damn thing.
