  • CLASS RANK and GRADE POINT AVERAGE

Class rank is only reported for students in the top 10% of the class.  All other students will have their cumulative grade point average reported without a class rank.  To make this determination, Plano ISD uses two grade point average calculations:

    Cumulative GPA

    • Summary of semester grades for all classes taken in high school as well as high school credit(s) earned in middle school
    • Not used to determine class rank
    • Reported on the transcript for all students.

    Ranking GPA & Class Rank

    • Designated courses in the subject areas of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies are included in the ranking GPA calculation.
    • Internally calculated for the purpose of determining class rank
    • Only reported on the transcript for students in the top 10% of the graduating class
