PS5 Restock Update for GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target and More

PS5 Restock Update for GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target and More

After an unexpected string of PS5 restocks last week, Sony's next-gen console is once again in short supply. Yet there is one outlet that is rumored to be selling units later today.

Here is a breakdown of the latest information.

GameStop PS5 Restock

GameStop could be restocking on PS5s later today (Tuesday, August 31) according to dependable console tracker Matt Swider.

The industry analyst's forecasts are usually well-founded, especially when it comes to GameStop, where he has correctly predicted the last three drops.

In this particular instance, Swider hasn't confirmed that there will definitely be a restock this week. Yet he has indicated that it is a distinct possibility and that gamers should keep an eye out just in case.

If you do intend on purchasing a PS5 from GameStop, you will need to sign up for their "PowerUp Rewards Pro" membership. This can be done on the retailer's website, for an annual cost of $14.99.

Walmart PS5 Restock

As we reported in our previous restock update, Walmart was selling the PlayStation 5 on two separate days last week.

This is an extremely rare occurrence and, as such, it is more than likely that the merchant's inventory is now thoroughly depleted. Most outlets will leave a fortnight between drops, in order to replenish their supplies and prepare their distribution centres.

However, Walmart restocks have been especially frequent lately, so it might be worth keeping an eye on their website just in case they throw another curveball.

If Walmart does release more PS5 units this week, it will likely be on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET (as per their established pattern).

Amazon PS5 Restock

After over a month of waiting, shoppers were finally able to add a PS5 to their Amazon basket last week.

According to Matt Swider, the retailer tends to update its console inventory on a monthly basis, meaning that we will probably not see another drop until at least the end of September.

In the meantime, you can purchase a few second-hand units from the Amazon marketplace, but these are being traded by third-party resellers who will charge you an extortionate price. For example, there is currently one unit listed on the website for $1,099, which is over double the recommended manufacturer's price.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

Sony's official storefront was last selling PS5s on Tuesday, August 24.

Given that this was the retailer's third drop in the space of just one week, it is unlikely that they will be coordinating any more in the near future.

In terms of when the virtual queue might reopen, PS Direct will typically send out invites to random customers ahead of time. These emails will give early notice about imminent restock dates and, from there, word tends to get out rather quickly.

Whenever this happens, we include all the relevant information in our next restock update, so make sure that you are regularly monitoring our coverage.

Target PS5 Restock

A number of individual Target stores coordinated their own localized PS5 restocks last week.

Unfortunately, this did not occur at every store across the country, and we still have no idea when the next nationwide drop will be taking place.

Until we know more, you might want to make a habit of checking Target's website every single morning. By doing this, you will be able to see if any locations nearby to you have updated their PS5 inventories and then quickly snap one up.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy's last restock took place on Thursday, August 12.

This means that the outlet is now long overdue for another drop, as these tend to occur on a fortnightly basis. With that in mind, we would recommend that you keep checking the Best Buy website over the coming days, particular on Thursday, September 2 (at around 2 p.m. ET), as this would fit in with their usual pattern.

Newegg PS5 Restock

The last Newegg shuffle to feature a PS5 bundle took place on Thursday, August 26.

Entering Newegg's randomized lottery draws is one of the best ways you can get a hold of in-demand electronics (like next-gen consoles and rare gaming PC components), as the system is much harder for scalpers to exploit.

To be alerted as soon as the next PS5 shuffle opens, follow dedicated console trackers like @mattswider and @GYXdeals on Twitter.

Antonline PS5 Restock

Antonline remains sold out of PS5s but (if you are not picky about which next-gen hardware you own) you can place an order for one of Microsoft's consoles instead. More information about these deals can be found in our latest Xbox restock update.

Costco PS5 Restock

You can't buy a PS5 from Costco at the time of writing and it has been quite some time since the retailer last had any units in stock.

When Costco eventually does replenish its inventory, @mattswider and @GYXdeals will be the first to let you know.

Sam's Club

The PS5 remains unavailable at Sam's Club and there is no word on when the outlet will be receiving its next batch. For timely updates on the situation, follow the likes of @mattswider and @GYXdeals.
