Ashish Nehra seems to be very hands-on when it comes to coaching a video of the Gujarat Titans coach has now gone viral as the former pacer was compared to Manchester City football manager Pep Guardiola by the fans. The GT coach was seen in the video talking to his captain Shubman Gill and bowlers like Umesh Yadav, Spencer Johnson and Azmatullah Omarzai. All three men had a special connection to win as they had delivered wickets at crucial points in the match, with Umesh bowling the final over and dismissing Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla to seal the win.

Nehra was also constantly in the ears of the players on the bench, who were tasked with conveying the message to the team in between the overs. You can see the full video below:

While Nehra was able to get a win against MI, he didn't have the same luck on March 26 as GT were soundly beaten by Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk.

What has been Nehra's impact on Gujarat Titans?

Since becoming the head coach in 2022, Nehra has made the relative newcomers in the IPL serious contenders for the title. In his two years as coach, GT finished at the top of the table on both occasions and also reached the final twice.

While they won the title in 2022, they were agonisingly close in their second season, only losing to CSK in a last-ball thriller.

Sai Kishore, after the win over MI, had opened up on the culture set by Nehra at the team and how the emphasis has been on competing.

"We felt we were 10 short, but the thing about this whole team and how it has been run over the last two years is we give a lot of emphasis to competing. Whether we win or lose, we're proud of the way we play. We competed really well. That was the talk given by (head coach) Ashish Nehra as well."

"All credit to the culture he has set up over the last two years. People are not thinking about the result (alone), they're focusing about competing and staying in the game."

GT will face SRH next at the Narendra Modi stadium on March 31.
