Princeton High School Reviews
Rating 3.86 out of 5 354 reviews
As a graduating senior, I have enjoyed my time at PHS. The majority of teachers are clearly burnt out, but the few who provide truly college-level education make the rest (mostly) worthwhile. Extracurriculars are hit or miss—the school has a strong track, volleyball, and swim team—but most of the other team sports are unremarkable. There are countless clubs and community service opportunities available—all student led—but about half of them exist solely for students’ college transcripts (don’t get me wrong, the other half are great! Euro challenge, DND club, fitness club, and quiz bowl are some standout and well-attended examples). The performing arts program is rigorous (for the most part), providing a truly unmatched level of opportunity in the form of countless concerts, yearly international tours for the school’s Band, Orchestra and Choir programs, as well as a number of theatre productions each year. but be wary: the arts environment can be exceptionally toxic at times.
Ive had a great experience in Princeton high school so far. In my opinion, Princeton high school is a very safe and positive environment for both staff and students. In addition, the work that the faculties put in to eduacate is amazing. However, there are some down sides like the food and hygiene.
Overall, Princeton High is a solid school academically, but students face overwhelming pressure from peers and parents to succeed in all aspects. While I feel that I've learned a great deal here, it becomes difficult to maintain a healthy mentality and limit stress in this constantly competitive atmosphere.
