“Have you two figured out that you like each other yet?” Murray asks bluntly. Will flinches at this question, flushes, and sees Mike’s facial expression contort in his peripheral view.
“What?!” Mike exclaims, motioning erratically at nothing, equally as flushed, Will notes. “What are you talking about?”
“Oh,” Murray nods in understanding, taking a deep breath in, “so the obliviousness and denial runs in the family? I should’ve guessed.” Mike goes even more erratic at this, like someone shot pure adrenaline in his veins.

Summary
"Children, children, CHILDREN!" Murray finally snapped, pinching the bridge of his nose. The three of them shut up and looked at him in shock. "Enough of this pointless, childish bickering already. If I wanted to watch drama like this I would turn on a soap opera or telenovela. My god, do I have to play therapist to EVERYONE in this group?? I could sue you all for emotional compensation!"
Mike started to argue. He didn't know what he was going to say, exactly, but he was still pent up and Murray seemed like a better target than his two best friends. Unfortunately he didn't get very far.
"Ba-ba-ba! NO. Shut up and SIT DOWN. It's my turn to talk," Murray said forcefully, shoving the three of them onto the couch, with Mike somehow ending up in the middle.
"Oh no," Jonathan said under his breath.
"Shit," Nancy said at the same time.
Joyce hurried forward and stepped in between them. "Murray, Murray, no," she pleaded. "I know what you're doing, STOP."
Or: Murray meddles, Mike is hella confused, the world is ending, and Will won't talk to him.
OR: Mike runs away from his feelings and then for his actual, literal life.

Summary
Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will are forced to spend the summer at a Mr. Murray Bauman’s house (bunker more like). Mike would say it was because god hates him, but really, their parents had schemed with Joyce to get the kids out of the house this summer. Mr. Bauman also owed Joyce a favor.
During an incredibly competitive game of hide and seek, Dustin discovers an ancient looking wardrobe, distinctly different from any of the modern furniture in Mr. Bauman’s hole of a home. Inside the wardrobe, is something Dustin has never seen before. It’s like a real-life D&D campaign in there. Now he just has to convince the rest of the party to venture into the unknown with him.

The closeness was nice- warm and soft. Worry clouded the back of his mind: That Mike would snap out of it, realise the implications of what he was doing and push Will away. But Mike didn't.
No, he snuggled in even further, which Will welcomed. They had done this countless times, share a bed in the cold. But it had never been like this. This close.

“You’re the kind to break your own heart in order for those you love to be happy,” Murray added. “You work hard, you pour your everything into those around you, into what you love, until there’s nothing left for you. Nothing left to give yourself.”
Mike snapped. “Alright, old man, that’s enough!”
“Don’t even get me started on you,” Murray interrupted Mike, making him jerk back slightly. “You think you should live that life, you think that’s the ideal, normal, safe life, but really… you’re lying to yourself. You wanna fit in, you wanna be normal, but really, you know you’re far from it, and you can’t accept it because it means losing that safety and having to face the reality.”-
Or the one where Murray reads Will and Mike like open books, all while taking care not to accidentally force them to reveal anything they aren't ready to. After all, he was never given the option.

Eddie dies, right in front of Dustin's eyes. He specifically remembered doing it, saying his goodbyes. He was supposed to be gone, in hell probably, expired, six feet under. So, why was he still alive? Why could he see and hear regular Hawkins instead of the weird Upside-Down version? At this point, he really wished he actually kicked the bucket like he was supposed to.

A fic (that's basically fanmade Season 5) where Chrissy Cunningham lives, relationships are tricky, useless gay people are everywhere, Hawkins is in shreds, and Eddie Munson is a ghost who desperately wants to be noticed. Also, Vecna's still out there and the entire group is back together again to defeat the fucker once and for all. Can they save everyone's lives or will they lose a few along the way? Saving the world is a lot harder than it's all cracked up to be.

Mike’s voice was barely a whisper.
‘You mean that?’ Will couldn’t believe it. His denial was still intense, after years of near misses and almosts. They were the words he’d been waiting to hear for years, so much so that he could barely hear them when they were spoken. He trembled, but felt Mike’s thumb smooth over the curve of his palm, leaving a trail of heat that sent a slow stream of liquid warmth up Will’s forearm, travelling through the rest of his body as Mike repeated.
‘I like you, Will.’ His leg had finally stopped its’ anxious bouncing. ‘It’s the truth.’***
With only a few weeks to go until they all head off for college, the group meets to remember those lost in the battle for Hawkins.
