For centuries, humankind has been vexed by one question above all others: Do Smurfs have sex? Some, such as noted scholar Donald Darko, say that Peyo’s iconic blue gnomes are asexual beings who lack reproductive organs altogether. Others contend that Smurfette — the only Smurf who identifies as female — is solely responsible for breeding future generations, although that argument obviously fails to account for the Smurfs that predated her. Canonically, it’s understood that a fleet of storks deliver baby Smurfs to Smurf Village whenever there’s a blue moon; that sounds a bit suspect, so far as these theories go, but it has the added benefit of being easily explained to young children.
I regret to inform you, dear reader,…
So afterwards we drove home and saw a McDonald's billboard which said that there are now Smurfs in Happy Meals which is basically the universe saying "Fuck this franchise we're giving y'all to Gargamel and eat you."
saxophone smurf plays the solo from Careless Whisper so this was worth the hour and a half of my day
The Smurf Theory
Okay, so I’m thinking that Satan must own rights to the Smurfs… Take that one in real quick. Okay, you good? Alright, so all the people that starred in this casually signed a contract that sold their souls to the Devil in order to become actors. The thing is EACH and EVERY one of them skimmed over the part of the fine print that mentioned that they would have to be cast in a Smurf movie at some point in their lifetime. I only say this because it’s the only feasible explanation for the star studded cast featured in this movie.

Well better than last time I guess. But still Smurf this one. I guess it could have been worse with their next mov— oh crap, it’s gonna get worse, is it?
💩 fiction is up next.
This is the same director that did Shrek 2. They sang “Im Blue” so 2 stars for that cause it ain’t Avatar.
would have been a lot better if they didn't shove fifteen pop songs down my throat every two minutes tbh
this movie and the wimpy kid animated movie are on my list of the biggest animated potential fumbles
It takes a real talent to NOT make me excited when Blue by Eiffel 65 plays. The best smurfs movie but only by default, it’s still a mind numbingly dull animated movie made for little babies but I think even dumb kids wouldn’t give a shit about the smurfs so it’s entirely worthless. Every time Ellie Kemper’s character spoke made me less interested in ever checking out unbreakable kimmy Schmidt so unfortunately I will never watch that show ever, sorry.
For whatever reason as soon as I woke up from my wisdom teeth surgery I thought “I gotta watch Smurfs: The Lost Village”
This would be immediately five stars if they'd let Gordon Ramsay Baker Smurf ask Smurfette what the fuck she was doing and say her cake was drier than a camel's arse in a desert storm. Stop censoring his talent Sony you cowards
The animation's really nice, the soundtrack's catchy and the main group of Smurfs have a few actually funny and noteworthy moments together, but the girl tribe have no function at all as characters and the absence of Hank Azaria's Gargamel means this is the least enjoyable of the three Smurf movies despite being slightly better than the second one overall. The 'movies about tiny idiots who are all the same primary colour' thing has really gotta stop.
