Kennedy Chase is a multimedia journalist for Spectrum News 1 Ohio. She was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and received her bachelor’s degree in news media from the University of Alabama, and later her master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where she specialized in video and broadcast journalism.

During her time at the University of Alabama, Kennedy worked as a multimedia journalist intern in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for WVUA 23 News and spent a summer in Augusta, Georgia with WFXG Fox 54 as a reporter intern. She also was an on-air talent for Crimson Tide Productions, working as a TideTv studio show host, the Dana Duckworth gymnastics studio show host, and a National Football Signing Day host. Kennedy was also a sideline reporter for the University of Alabama’s Women’s Basketball team on SEC Network+.

While in Chicago obtaining her master’s degree, Kennedy was a multimedia journalist and anchor for Chicago This Week on CAN-TV, Chicago’s Public Television station. Chicago This Week was nominated for Best College Student Production by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Chicago Midwest Chapter. She also had the opportunity to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina on a reporting assignment, producing a mini documentary in Spanish about women in male dominated careers in Buenos Aires.
