Take cover, because it’s WOMEN OF ACTION Month at Mondo Mondays, featuring badass B-movies filled with femme-fueled fury that will really knock you out!

“She makes the bad guys bleed!” Written, produced by and starring exploitation flick legend Renee Harmon (Cinderella 2000), Lady Street Fighter is the story of Linda (Harmon), a tough-talking karate cop on the trail of the ruthless scumbags who murdered her twin sister! While there IS a plot (of sorts), it’s mostly an irrelevant distraction from all the perverse pleasures to be found in the jaw-dropping details of this completely cuckoo, low-budget action flick. Overflowing with absolutely outrageous ‘70s fashions, hilariously odd editing (which seems to combine several completely different films into one big old mess), and a bizarre disregard for logic or continuity that borders on the surreal, Lady Street Fighter must be seen to be believed. And topping it all off is the mind-blowing lead performance by German born actress/producer/screenwriter Renee Harmon as Linda. Decked out in groovy silver jumpsuits, the furiously energetic star gives a hilariously cracked performance involving mangled dialogue, clumsy kung fu and bizarre sexual innuendo aplenty. Gloriously disorienting and perversely entertaining, Lady Street Fighter, also starring Trace Carradine (the most elusive of all the Carradine brothers) and Liz Renay (Desperate Living), is a joyful blast of no-holds-barred chaos and early ‘80s sleaze from the director of Don’t Go in the Woods! (Dir. by James Bryan, 1981, USA, 73 mins., Rated R)
