Question
To be more specific, it seems like the site nuked its search function and can find nothing. The top 100 for example has things with 10s of seeds, not thousands. Tv shows alone I can not find any recent marvel or hbo shows in the last year. Is this happening for everyone? Is there a way to fix it? Even using torrent names I have downloaded from TPB no longer brings them up.

The site is broken, searching from the homepage brings wonky results but searching again after those results come up will bring the results you need

I'm in my late 20s now and it's been broken since I was like 15 atleast lol. I do remember that being the "best" site though.
The Pirate Bay is like an undead corpse, not technically gone, but you should steer clear of it.

Never had an issue with TPB. Never any virus etc. Can't understand the 'lol u still use tpb?' reaction either. It has a good bit of stuff that isn't on newer torrent sites.

Personally I use fitgirls official site for games & RARBG for movies & TV shows. Sometimes I will use 1337x also for other stuff. There are plenty more sites out there though.

You're on VPN when visiting TPB, right? What you're describing sounds like some fuckery from your ISP to me. ISP-level blocks are incredibly common these days.
If that's not the reason, my second-best guess is that your browser is fucked up in some way, and the JS is not rendering properly, either due to browser misconfiguration or malicious ads. Try a fresh install of Firefox with uBlock Origin.
If I search "House of the Dragon," for example, there's plenty of results at the moment. On occasion, I have noticed a search erroneously return zero results, but it works on the second try every time. TPB is a relic of a bygone era of computing, where users knew how to deal with an unreliable web service. Its founders were more concerned with resiliency than usability, and that prescient decision is the reason why it's the only survivor of several generations of public trackers. It even survived all its creators going to prison.
Everyone saying "TPB sucks use another tracker" and not pointing out suggestions for other public trackers isn't wrong, they're just an asshole... TPB has its flaws, but what is dead may never die. There have been better public trackers over the last 15 years, but they've all come and gone. TPB has the distinct advantage of being immortal. You come back to sailing the high seas after some time as a landlubber, and every time, the MAFIAA has whacked all your old friends and dumped their corpses next to Jimmy Hoffa, except for TPB.

Wow. I’m shocked by all these comments. I’ve been using and still using piratebay since I learned about piracy maybe 10+ years ago.
Still works fine for me, never encountered any virus whatsoever, still have the trusted sources that I usually download from, can search pretty much anything, etc.
Its gone down in quality alot personally I stay away from it and have for alot of years now.

Same, its not the website per se that gives the virus/malware.. it the torrent packager/source. Since it's one of the oldest and most persistent .torrent distribution site, it will have a higher percentage of those malicious .torrents listed cause anyone can list them.

Yeah I've been having some issues, don't see seeder counts anymore, only been the last week or so for me.
Its a broken gem at this point. Pretty rife with malware. It used to be such an awesome resource and will be remembered as an icon of the high seas, but should probably be avoided from here on. RIP TPB. You were so good to us.
It depends on which pirate bay you go to. Try the .party and it’s a whole different site that works

I just got in my first one two months ago, took no effort at all. Pretty sure they stayed open for 2-4 weeks without going back and looking. Mind blowingly better than pirate bay and everyone is super friendly/helpful.
Love having to consistently worry about maintaining a positive ratio despite people with 100 times faster upload speeds already doing all the seeding so there's nothing to upload.

Depends what you search. TPB search tool is tied to the ads, and other things. If you have java and ads blocked it doesn't work properly. But you should have Java off, and ads blocked so just live with it. Stopped early 2021 as you can tell by the fact that that is the newest date you find for a lot of things. Use other sites like 1337x to search for more recent things. wink. The search works fine for things that there are only a few of still though. It's just not reliable so use other sites to search, or be extra specific in the words (include episode numbers and years of release) you search. TPB is still a great tool for when the other sites are hard to reach or down for some reason, just shouldn't be your main source anymore.
The trick to using tpb is to crosscheck with other sites, to get more trackers and alternatives. There's nothing wrong with still using tpb, you just have to make some adjustments.
