Turner’s late Norham Castle masterpiece (albeit technically incomplete), laying the foundations for Impressionism & Abstraction with the blazing sunshine subsuming absolutely everything.
How about reposting this with a better quality source image? JPEG artifacts and white bars... The wikipedia page has a good example.

The image as posted best captures the original with Turner purposefully depicting the way that light blurs the landscape. The light is the subject.
So his purpose was to blur the landscape through a filter of compression algorithm blocks? Fascinating.
