Singer/pianist Jimmy McCracklin was one of the many 1950s R&B artists whose music crossed over to the rock-&-roll market. THE MERCURY RECORDINGS features all the sides McCracklin waxed for the label between 1958 and 1960, plus a couple of previously unreleased tracks that will sweeten the pot for blues collectors. McCracklin continued recording for many decades after his Mercury era, but his soulful singing and electrifying piano pounding are heard at their peak here.
