The Nursing/Registered Nurse program aims to provide excellence in nursing education inspiring diverse graduates to demonstrate competence in clinical judgment resulting in quality, evidence-based, client-centered care to enrich the health of our community, one student at a time.

The program courses will assist Practical Nurses, Paramedics, and Respiratory Therapists with the knowledge and skills necessary to transition into the nursing profession. Graduates will be prepared to pass the NCLEX-RN®, and to provide and manage safe, cost-effective care to meet client needs.

Requirements for Admission to the Program

  • This is a selective admission program. Application to the program does not constitute admission.
  • Minimum 2.50 GPA and completion of pre-requisites.
  • Minimum score of 60.0 on the ATI TEAS test.(current version; maximum of 3 attempts)
  • Currently credentialed as a Practical Nurse, Paramedic, or Respiratory Therapist.
  • Applications are due January 31st for Fall start and July 31st for Spring start.
  • Contact program coordinator for application, full requirements, and program-specific advising.

** Math sequence is contingent upon previous high school mathematics background and transferinstitution. Students should confer with an advisor to determine correct placement.

+ Basic Concepts of Pathophysiology may be taken prior to admission or concurrent with NURS 0105 .  It must be completed prior to beginning NURS 0243 .

* Students admitted to the Articulation Program with Advanced Standing will have these 22 credits added to their transcript following successful completion of NURS 0105 .
