I cannot express how utterly disappointed I am with the MONROE nightstand I purchased from City Furniture. It is hands down the worst piece of furniture I have ever had the misfortune of owning. Let me spare you the trouble and summarize my experience with this abomination of a nightstand and company.First and foremost, the quality is shockingly garbage. After a minor spill of water that was immediately cleaned up, the top of the nightstand began to expand and bubble out, utterly ruining the entire surface. I couldn't believe my eyes! Furniture made of particle board that held up better to spills than this disgrace of a nightstand.The material used is clearly subpar and not fit for purpose. It's as if they crafted this nightstand out of paper mache and coated it with tissue paper. I have never seen such a catastrophic failure in furniture construction.And don't even get me started on the customer service. This is not my first issue with City Furniture they delivered me a used couch before this incident. When I reached out to them to express my grievances, they gave me a small gift certificate when what I need is this relaced. It's abundantly clear that they have no regard for customer satisfaction or quality assurance.In conclusion, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this set. Save yourself the headache, the disappointment, and the sheer frustration of dealing with such a shoddy product. I wouldn't wish this nightmare on anyone.Consider yourself warned: this nightstand is an absolute disgrace and a stain on the reputation of furniture craftsmanship. City Furniture has a variety of furniture to choose from in many different styles. Customer satisfaction is at the top of their list from the variety of furniture styles to customer delivery. Today I received a service visit to fix the bed frame because it was damaged. From the technicians' entry with an attitude saying there was no way to fix it, to walking on the new beige carpet with dirty shoes that I also bought from City Furniture. I reported what happened because they didn't resolve it for me, and neither could customer service. I don't think it represents the company or the service I received in the store. After making a large purchase and having an excellent salesperson, the impression left is not the best. Both the carpet and the bed need to be replaced. It's very sad that in the end, the impression left is not the best because the after-sales service doesn't leave a good image. Now I have to deal with a dirty carpet when it's new, and the technicians walked on it even though I told them not to. Unfortunately, it wouldn't cost the company much to replace the carpet and the bed, especially when I have evidence that they walked on a new carpet that was delivered less than a week ago, and it's light-colored. In the end, customers and recommendations are lost due to unsatisfied customers, which is sad because, as I mentioned, the sales representative was excellent and the treatment in the store. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and they told me I had to wait ************************************************************ Then, I had to deal with the customer service representative, who couldn't resolve a customer's dissatisfaction when all I was doing was claiming my rights. He wanted to offer to have it cleaned. Why should I accept that when it's new and it was City Furniture's staff who dirtied it, and I have photos to prove it, which I sent to them? The service is very disappointing; what's the point of buying furniture and paying for service if what you're going to receive doesn't match what's sold.Review from Jenise F

I ordered over $4000 worth furniture paid cash no financing. In store customer service was great. The delivery was horrible. I didn't want to get the young men in trouble at first but after getting out of my emphatic phase I realized they were costing me money. The damaged my walls in my new condo that was just painted. I contacted the store 2 days later and informed them because the cost to repaint the wall was more than I expected. To my disappointment they refused to take responsibility. I am a first time and last time customer due to this experience. I will continue to pursue this matter because it is not fair to me as a consumer to have to eat the damage.Review from Linda C

This has been my experience with CITY Furniture. We made our whole house of furniture purchase in July 2021. With staggered deliveries, we slowly found they sold us broken furniture, furniture with missing parts, mismatched furniture, defective furniture, a fabric protection system that is simply a stain removal kit that we didn’t even get until a few months before it was set to expire and on top, it didn’t even work and after much argument, when they finally sent someone to clean our chair, the person they sent kept staring at our home electronics and he actually made the stain way worse. I don’t even think he was legit because he made the stain worse & he gave me such bad vibes that I considered filing a police report because his focus was on my electronics. I reported this to their customer service & let City handle it. City said they have a replacement chair, but they won’t replace it. They want to replace the seat part, but they want me to wait months for it to come in and you know it’s not going to match my 3 year old chair. How could it? I’ve seen reviews where they do this and the colors & fabrics don’t ever match up so I want them to replace the whole chair to avoid more hassle with them in the future because I can read the writing on the wall. I want my dealings with them to be over, but their customer service is failing me with this last hurdle. Why does doing right by a customer have to be so frustrating? My experience with them has been a 3 year battle just to get them to give us what we paid thousands of dollars for. My dining set looks so horrible that we don’t invite guests over. My review is more based on the service and employees knowledge of their job than the actual furniture I purchased. I do like furniture I purchased the quality is not up to the price I paid but it is a good looking piece of furniture and feels sturdy however the cushions do not seem will hold up for long they squish in and take days to plump back only jad 2mo they are not removable so just have to wait out do to this happening already do not fill confident will last a long time purchased 3700. So that's disappointing. The bigger issue is the salesperson telling me my purchase would have 12mo no interest which has been a lie. It has been a very hectic 3mo fighting for city furniture to honor the promotion and salesperson ************** Word to date. Several calls and going in to location doesn't seem to have resolved my issue I got a will give you 3mo courtesy interest reimbursement. Extremely disappointed in how this has been handled and now having to pay 8mo more of interest at a 35% due to a salesperson who didn't do his job thinking of the me the customer just himself and his sale.
