Studio 100 Int’l, Caligari Team Up for ‘Dougie Dolittle’

Producer-distributor Studio 100 International and film/TV prodco Caligari, both based in Munich, have joined forces with Studio 100 Group’s Studio Isar Animation (Germany) and 3 Doubles Productions (Spain) for a new CG-animated family action-comedy, Dougie Dolittle. The film is slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026, with Studio 100 Film launching global sales at the Marché du Film in Cannes next week.

The story centers on Dougie, a teenage boy with an intense fear of animals. When he encounters the long-lost family parrot, Polly, he discovers he has inherited the special ability to talk with animals from his famous grandfather, Doctor Dolittle. At first, this ability feels like a curse to critter-phobic Dougie, but he overcomes his fear to help his new animal friends fight an unscrupulous feed company and save the city.

Dougie Dolittle is being directed by Regina Welker (Latte and the Magic Waterstone) from a screenplay by Mark Slater (Coconut the Little Dragon) and script consultant Philip LaZebnik (The Prince of Egypt). The core creative team also includes art directors Luis Guggenberger (Captain Marvel) and Thomas van Kummant (Lilly the Witch). Producers are Gabriele M. Walther for Caligari Film and Thorsten Wegener for Studio 100 International.

Animation studios Isar and 3 Doubles have previously teamed up on Giants of La Mancha and Mia & Me: Hero of Centopia.
