DadBattle (also spelled Dad Battle or Dadbattle) is the third and final track of Week 1 and the fourth track of Friday Night Funkin' overall. It was composed by Kawai Sprite and released on the 1st of November, 2020. It appears on Friday Night Funkin' OST, Vol. 1 and Friday Night Funkin' - The Official Soundtrack Vol. 1.
The antagonist for this level is Daddy Dearest.
Trivia[]
- Dadbattle stands out as the only new song made for Week 1 as both Bopeebo and Fresh originally appeared in the Ludum Dare prototype of Friday Night Funkin'.
- Although the song is titled "Dadbattle" in-game, it is titled "Dad Battle" with proper spacing on Friday Night Funkin' OST, Vol. 1 and on Kawai Sprite's YouTube channel. This is not the case for its ERECT remix, however.
- Dadbattle used to be the first track where both Boyfriend and his opponent harmonize, but after the Week 7 update that recharted almost every track in the game, Fresh is now the first to do so.
- Back in the Ludum Dare prototype, both Bopeebo and Fresh did not have any moments where the characters harmonized. This was due to the game following Ludum Dare 47's theme, "Stuck in a Loop." To keep the rhythm game aspect while keeping close to the theme, the 2 songs made at the time were charted so that the player would only ever need to repeat the note patterns done by Daddy Dearest. After the game was released on Newgrounds however, Dadbattle, as well as most other tracks from that point on, would include moments of harmonization.
- Dadbattle and South were the first songs to have their ERECT mode remixes uploaded, with both being uploaded on the 29th of December, 2021.
