Glee: The Pilot is the Director's Cut of the Pilot episode. It was released on DVD in the US on September 1, 2009 as a Wal-Mart exclusive. It was also released in Australia as a Limited Edition. The UK Version is the only version that hasn't been advertised as a limited edition.

Optimistic high school teacher Will Schuester tries to refuel his own passion while reinventing McKinley High's Glee Club and challenging a group of outcasts to realize their star potential. Going up against McKinley's cruel high school caste system and facing harsh criticism from everyone around him, Will is determined to prove them all wrong.

The director's cut episode premiered on Hulu.com. The DVD included an advanced preview of the episode Showmance, including a deconstruction of the series by creator, Ryan Murphy.
