The Boathouse has a superb atmosphere. We dined in the Conservatory and the outlook was beautiful. Our meals were delicious and service was spot on. Our only disappointments was the wine list that was a tad limited - no shiraz or cab sav. However there was a good varied selection of Pinot Noirs to enjoy.

I was interested to visit The Lyon House museum after seeing it on a TV show. Well it did not disappoint. The owner was so lovely whilst giving us a tour and explaining the concept and art works around the home. Very informative, absolutely amazing and well worth a visit if you ever get the chance. A family who have opened up their home to share their collection with others. Awesome.

An undiscovered gem, an atmospheric, charming ramshackle historic old villa with beautiful murals and decorations in various stages of decay / restoration. Tours of the interiors are led by enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers once a month.
It reminded me of old villas in Italy with the layers of history telling a great story and letting your imagination run wild.

Great lookout over the city with a few tree branches in the way. Quite a pretty evening view.

Maybe the most important thing is to get to the viewing platform just before sunset. We were a little early, not wanting to miss the action, and basically they all hang around doing very little. However, once the sun sets within around half an hour later they all start flying around, the noise and spectacular sight is something you don’t often see!

We strolled to Alexandra Gardens late morning to find the gorgeous gazebo, beautifully manicure gardens, gold fish in the pond, and a lovely area for the family to enjoy.. a truly delightful jaunt across Kew to this paradise garden!

The Outer Circle Linear Trail, also known as the Outer Circle Anniversary Trail, runs through Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs. The Outer Circle Trail follows the former Outer Circle Line. The line was intended to supplement Melbourne's radial train network. Unfortunately, due to lack of passenger patronage and the inability to secure the support of freight users, the Outer Circle Line became commercially unviable. Since the end of the Outer Circle Line, the linear park, which has become a popular hiker-biker trail. The trail is sealed, in concrete and bitumen. Along the way, there are many small parks, which often have BBQs. Water fountains can be found around every 2 kms (1 mile). The Outer Circle Line began operation in 1891, and the Trail has been upgraded regularly. Following the Outer Circle Trail is a good day out, it traverses Melbourne's prosperous Eastern Suburbs.

My wife and I walked across this bridge and continued walking along the Yarra River to enjoy the exercise, fresh air and the views.

A few weeks ago, we walked across a bridge over the Yarra River in Warburton.

During the current pandemic, when travel restrictions apply, these are the sort of places we visit to fill the void. Excellent for social distancing.

Norris Reserve is a wild area overgrown with ancient pines. There's not much to see, but it's like being in a primeval forest. Good place for the Teddy Bear's Picnic. The park is at the corner of Studley Park Road and Walmer St in Kew.

On this cool Saturday, it was a pleasant time to walk through the park. Dogs were being walked and some children had found the playground.

The Kate Campbell Reserve is at the end of Kellett Grove. It's a bit tricky to find, as it is at the end of a two-level road, it's much bigger than it looks. The reserve has a children's playground, including a "Drovers Hut. It's a good place to walk the dog. The park has seat and a table. Kate Campbell Reserve is a bit hidden away, but it is worth finding.
