Join us for our new complimentary preview classes to experience AMDA firsthand and get a feel for studying a craft. Taught by our esteemed industry-professional faculty, these virtual classes will introduce you to an AMDA classroom. The ACTING FOR CAMERA class is a mix of on-camera technique, text analysis, cold reads and fun! Participants will be introduced to the skills necessary to successfully act and audition using camera basics. There is no preparation required, and all workshop materials will be provided by AMDA.

Going to this school will either be your best dream or your worst nightmare. It depends how committed you are to acting and how much you are willing to sacrifice. You will not have much time if any time to engage in hobbies and interests outside of acting. The teachers are very strict about being on time and most will not let you in class even if you are 1 minute late. Every single class is about acting. Or dancing. Or singing. There is not much discussion about the social impact side of theater and there is nothing about the environmental impact. It is just acting for the sake of acting. If you have stage combat classes be prepared to fight. You should be someone who gets enjoyment out of fighting otherwise it will be miserable for you. Always have your ID on you and know where it is. For every class you need to have your ID, when you switch buildings you need to have your ID, to go the library you need to have your ID. Oh and you are only allowed to have one student ID (no back ups)

Review AMDA College of the Performing Arts - Los Angeles

Extremely small and intimate, which in some cases is very nice. The communication between students and admin is poor, would love to see admin responding to emails/calls from students in a timely manner. Would also love to see a higher graduation rate as it is a 68% right now.

I have been growing as an artist an person and learning about the business! AMDA has taught me how to get my work done in a a certain time span how to be open to auditions. I’ve learned how to create self tapes and a lot of other things Amda is the performing arts school and I’m here for musical theater I’ve been working on my vocals, mainly and I have one of the best teachers in country and Amda, who not only teaches me about singing, but teaching me about vocal health, and what I need to be doing to be a longevity singer. I especially love my dance teacher, who has taken his time to really cultivate my skills and teach me what it means to be not only a musical theater dancer, but a dancer in the professional aspect, I enjoy the staff. They are really nice to me, and they help me understand my mental health and help me get rest. They are like family they understand what it is to be in college so everything they give me as what I needI am letting my growth define me as a student .
