Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful visit with family. Lots to look at and see. This will be a return trip for sure. My mom really enjoyed the scenery of the museum.

Definitely worth the time to visit. Plan on at least an hour but better to spend two or more. Wear shoes for walking on gravel and sand. So many types of planes, lots from WW Ii but also from 1800's to today.

This is one of those hidden gems that seems kind of low-profile. I thought it was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and interesting (especially for non-southwesterners), and the historic building itself is fascinating.
His art isn’t my personal favorite style, but the scope of his work, and all the mediums he used, are really impressive. He’s a recognized important figure n the art world.
There’s a lot to see here, inside and out, but not so much that you feel overwhelmed, as happens in many museums. It’s definitely worth a visit, if you have any interest in historic buildings and native plants—and yes, the art.

If you are a mini enthusiast you MUST go. Our timing gave me only an hour- boo hoo. Plan on at least two hours. It is very well thought out museum where the minis are excellently displayed. There were two special exhibits when I was there- fascinating.
It’s a bit hard to find but persevere. There is a bench inside if not everyone wants to go in ( my husband).

Reached out with a question concerning American Indain jewelry which they very nicely answered. They were very helpful!

Wow, I had no idea that this museum existed! Wonderful to see this collection and see history at the same time. A jewel in the Old Pueblo!

What a cool experience! An engaging presentation sets the stage and informs about the rich history of this uniquely Arizona asset. Then an up-close-and-personal view of the lab and manufacturing processes really brings the size, scale and speed of making these mirrors to life! Our family (ages ranging from 11 to 78) had a blast while the technicians were power washing the silica from the honeycombs below. Our guides (Will, Laura and Chase) were fun and very knowledgeable. No better way to experience the technological advances increasing our understanding of the universe than to see it in real time on the Mirror Lab Tour! Kudos!

An easy walk from downtown this gallery is in the old barrio district. It’s unassuming entrance gives you a surprise inside. They have a permanent collection as well as special exhibits. It’s free and well worth your time.

The collection of native textiles and weaving is very impressive. The museum isn’t crowded so you can take your time. Nice way to spend the afternoon.

What a gem of a place to visit in downtown Tucson. We took a tour with a wonderful and knowledgable docent named Lewis. He is the best docent I have come across in all my years of travel. He is ability to make the art come alive is uncanny. A trip to this museum is well worth it.

Would give this place ten stars if I could.

Exquisite collection of glass art, one of the best I’ve seen. If you’re a fan of glass art, then you will not be disappointed. You’ll want to buy out the whole gallery, though that would require quite a bit of money :)

I purchased a beautiful glass bowl and it was delivered to me in a timely manner and in perfect condition.

    Excellent customer service from Alison.

Looking forward to stopping by again next time I’m in Tucson.

Adult family tour of of the museum and the grounds. Nicely done. Great way to learn about the early inhabitants of Tucson and the founding by the Spanish and subsequent transition to the United States government.

Having a docent is a must, otherwise considerable information would not have been conveyed.

Also, this is the start of the walking tour of downtown Tucson and a map can be obtained. Can do as little of the walking tour as desired outside the museum.

Fantastic, hands on museum located in downtown Tucson. The museum has lots to offer with many different themed rooms for kids to play, experiment, build, etc. Would recommend arriving early as it did get crowded around 11 AM and plan to spend about 2-3 hours here. And age groups best for this museum, in my opinion, 2 years - 10 years. Location is great as it is walking distance to various restaurants downtown. No food/drink sold inside the museum. Did appreciate staff wearing masks, various hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the premises and free masks at the desks (although not required during your visit).

This museum was a complete surprise to us on a recent visit to the Pima Air Museum. It’s a wonderful facility dedicated to the 390th bomb group in WW2. Admission is included with your fee to the main Pima grounds. It’s in the middle of the Pima grounds (which is also a nice indoor break when it gets hot outside or you need a break from the walking outdoor portion of the Pima museum)

The volunteers are wonderful and amazingly educated. We heard so many stories. We were there when a B17 pilot was on site recounting his experience during the war. We hear about his experience piloting his bomber back to the Britain from Germany with 3 of 4 engines out, only to find his brakes were out of service when he made it back and he landed. Incredible story from a hero in honor of so many other hero’s in the group. Other volunteers told us about the b17 crew jackets and details behind the designs on second floor. We were also in awe looking at all the photos of the 390th b17 crews on the second floor. The photos seem like they went on forever. So many dedicated hero’s who served our country with the odds stacked against them.

This is definitely a must see museum within a museum. Great job to those volunteers and fantastic exhibits

I stayed across the street at the Graduate so decided to walk over my last day in Tucson. As an east coaster I admittedly didn’t know much about the history of Arizona, so I was happy to learn more. My friend and I were the only people there at 10 am on a Saturday. We took our time perusing the information and artifacts. There were antique wagons, silver, clothing, guns, an old studebaker, and other items on display. I particularly appreciated the sections on Geronimo, beer and wine, and the memorial to the victims of the Tucson mass shooting in 2011. All in all, a nice little museum for folks interested in old west history.
