Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is celebrated for its whimsical atmosphere, featuring classic Disney characters and vibrant themes that charm many guests. The cleanliness of the hotel earns positive remarks, with well-maintained rooms and commendable service, although a few visitors mention a hint of mustiness. While the rooms are on the smaller side and some guests suggest they could use an update, the affordability and included amenities, such as the convenient transportation and multiple pools, are frequently appreciated. The location is generally praised, although the food court quality and room allocation have room for improvement. Despite occasional service inconsistencies, the overall guest experience is typically regarded as attentive and pleasant.

Is this the best, most luxurious, feature rich Disney resort out there? Absolutely not... but why the 5-star review then? Because it offers unbeatable value and theming, with a small, but quality and recently renovated room. It is also central enough that most of the theme parks are easily and quickly accessible via Disney transportation.

The common (exterior) grounds is probably one of the best feature of the hotel and in my mind up there with Art of Animation as the best value resort options at WDW. The theming is spot on and the attention to details is impressive. All 5 Disney value resorts are actually a great lesson in Imagineering with outside characters, making you feel like a kid again...The one thing the differentiate this value resort vs the other ones is its focus on iconic characters and movies such as Fantasia, Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, Mighty Ducks and the Love Bug - something that emotionally is only matched by Art of Animation. All-Star Music, Sports and Pop Century use the same Imagineering techniques to impress - but I find slightly harder to connect with.

Another thing I like about the value resorts, and especially All-Star Movie is the pool area. Simple - but once again with effective and visible theming and what appears to pretty good size pools.

Food wise, the on-site offering is relatively basic with the relatively standard food court concept focused on classics: pancakes, waffles, bacon/meat for breakfast, and burgers, chicken tenders, pizza, pasta and other quick food offerings for lunch and dinner. Nothing fancy, or character breakfast/dinner style - but quick, effective and decent value (by Disney standards)

The rooms are not big, but space is used efficiently. As stated before, the rooms were recently renovated (withing the last 5 years). The theming is basic and simple but everything looked and felt modern, and in good operating order. Temperature control was adequate. Wifi worked fine. Bed was comfortable... but maybe a tad on the hard side. Decent storage space (drawers...). Bathroom/washroom area highly functional, yet again streamlined and simple. Shower features standard Disney Resorts (formerly H20) amenities. Note that at value resorts, housekeeping is only offered every other day of your stay, but one can connect with guest services to have additional amenities (eg: towels) brought to the room. Technology wise, the rooms feature the Amazon Alexa based Hey Disney console which worked pretty much as expected when it comes to setting up daily alarms, timers and the likes.

During my stay, Disney transportation to/from the parks and the Disney Springs area was efficient and on time - with no issues or concerns whatsoever. I saw the lines for Magic Kingdom that were longer for the other parks and Disney did their best to bring in extra or longer buses to manage this specific line.

Last but not least, a review of a stay at a Disney resort would not be complete without speaking about the Cast Members. During my stay, I had an opportunity to interact with several cast members (Food court, "Bar" by the pool, pool, front desk). All were smiling and always helpful, with a few engaging in longer, meaningful conversations.

All in, a stay at Disney's All Star Movies is about incredible value, with impressive exterior theming that is sure to make you feel like a kid again. It is not fancy, but the fact that rooms were recently renovated a big plus. I would very highly recommend a stay at this resort.

A friend and I came down for my 40th birthday trip! I checked in on my phone, and when I got to the resort, I received an email stating to stop at the front desk. I checked in at the front desk, and they gave me my magic bands, and they said that my room wasn’t ready, but the cast member was able to get my traveling partner a premium room. This put us on the top floor of the buzz light year building. The room is small, but the option to put one of the beds in a storage position in the wall was a great option. The bathroom is split between a tub toilet area, and a sink/closet area with a pocket door in between. This was nice when one person is in the bathroom and one wants to use the sink area. The beds were extremely comfortable, but the pillows were extremely flat.

I enjoyed breakfast at the food court. The Mickey waffles were cute, and I really enjoyed the yoghurt bar.

Prices were on par with any type resort.

I used the park transportation, which was a great perk of staying on site.

The cast members were wonderful, always helpful and pleasant. I even received some Pixy Dust! I was gifted a free celebration cupcake, and a resort beverage mug for my birthday!

The rooms were quiet, and secure! I couldn’t hear anyone next to us, and although they had outside doors and balcony corridors, you didn’t hear any excessive noise from the outside!

I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for making my birthday so magical!

We are a family of 4 and stayed here 9 days. We have stayed at Pop Century and All Star Music our previous two trips to Disney. There is no reason NOT to book here at Movies if your looking to book at a value property, we were pleasantly surprised by the room when we arrived.
Check in was reasonable and our room was ready upon arrival. They are small but not the smallest we have seen in our travels. Our room was clean, newly renovated and the design allowed for lots of storage! The Murphy bed is great, we enjoyed having an actual table for the kids to eat at. Also a handy little pull out clothesline in the tub area. The room really wasn’t lacking in anything you would see in a standard hotel stay elsewhere. Fridge, tea, coffee, shampoo/conditioner/body wash. We opted out of housekeeping to receive the gift card and were still able to get clean towels, sheets and garbage taken away whenever we wanted. The pools close earlier than elsewhere (8pm) but again this is standard for Disney value resorts. Cast members were friendly. Great little playground to busy our little guy while the other half of our party got ready in the mornings. The grounds are tidy and the gardens are pretty. Bus transportation was also good.....wait times were reasonable and during peak times (morning and evenings) Movies always had its own bus....and we were always able to find a seat. Through mid day all three All Star Resorts shared a bus. We never waited longer than 15 minutes I would say during our entire stay. We used the laundry machines and they were clean.
The only negative is the food. It’s cafeteria food. It’s not great. It’s kinda gross actually and we are not picky eaters. Nice to be able to eat on the dining plan at the resort (unlike at Universal) but it got tiresome after about two days and the menu only changed once. Our advice would be to eat in the parks. Overall, we don’t regret booking at Movies and would stay again if looking at the Value Properties. It’s Basic accommodations but still with the Disney perks and on site location.

It sounds like your visit to Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort was a real blockbuster hit, Michelle! It is delightful to learn that, from the moment you arrived to the moment you left, our Cast Members provided your family with exemplary Guest service. Thank you for taking the time to recognize your seamless check-in process, and timely housekeeping assistance! I also love that you were able to take advantage of our Service Your Way program – especially with such an extended stay! I love this program because it gives Guests an opportunity to treat themselves to an extra special souvenir at the end of their visit, or even a head start on saving up for their next magical visit, too! While I’m truly delighted your stay was full of fun, it is disappointing to learn you didn’t enjoy our food and beverage offerings at the World Premiere Food Court. Please be assured, your feedback is important to us, and will be made visible to the appropriate Leadership team. Thanks for letting us roll out the red carpet for your family. We look forward to welcoming you back again real soon! Kenzi Disney Social Reviews

I want to like this hotel. I was excited to bring my little one to Disney and be on resort, but there are things that I think people traveling here need to be aware of.

(1) We returned after 4P on 2 days to still find our room was not cleaned. One day, they never came. The other day, I had to wake my child up from a nap to have the room serviced. The management needs to correct their housekeeping logistics.

(2) Dirty. The floors are dirty and dusty. We found clothing left by another person who had stayed in our room prior tucked into the drawer. So was our room thoroughly cleaned? I'm having doubts.

(3) Not only were we disturbed by housekeeping that one time, but with the do not disturb on our door there were knocks on our door at 9.30PM (!!) and 2:00P. Again, traveling with a kid. One was magical express not realizing that we already received our luggage (again, opportunity to improve logistics and tracking) and the 2nd was housekeeping again.

(4) When you walk between the dining hall and pool towards Toy Story area, it smells like a stinky wet dog. Again, c'mon Disney.

(5) Find a better smokers corner closer to a parking lot where people do not have to walk through plumes of smoke to go to their rooms in the evening or to the busses in the morning. It's not healthy for the 99% of your guests who aren't smokers.

I compare this hotel to a 2-star Holiday Inn Express without breakfast. Would I pay a premium to stay here again? No. What I would recommend is finding a better resort off site and ubering to and from the parks. It's like $15 each way (with tip) and you don't have to deal with the bus system which also doesn't run smoothly for young families. You'd actually save money and have more convenience in the long-run.

Hello. Thank you for informing us of your recent experience at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. I would like to start off by sincerely apologizing for these negative experiences you've had at the Resort. It really seems as though each of these concerns you've mentioned, like the inconsistent housekeeping service you received and the locations of our Designated Smoking Areas you had to walk through, has added up to create some real dissatisfaction in your stay, and I completely understand why. Please know we never want our Guests to feel this way about their stay at our Disney Resort hotels. We would like the chance to assist and learn more about this situation. We are sending you a Private Message to your Tripadvisor inbox so we can discuss this with you further. Thank you very much, Kim Disney Social Reviews

I have been a passholder for 15+ years and have stayed here numberous times. However, last stay deserves a updated review.
Disney "value" resorts are long gone but thats okay they remolded their rooms so its okay. Or is it?
So All star range on the weekend minimum $150 a night. The pools close by 9pm, parks mostly closing by 9, they charge $13+ a night for parking if traveling by car. They are serving TV dinners in the box charging $10+ for these dishes servered in a box that they pay less than a dollar in bulk for(shameful). They used to have really good food options. Also, they have the amount of soda 'TIMED' so you have a soda allotment. Yes, coke lovers must wait ten minutes for next refill that you paid for (*exhales*). Again cents on the dollar if even.
SO yes they remolded rooms and they are nice and have usb ports to charge phone every where, fridge, coffee maker, wood ikea looking floors & no more cute lil shampoo bottles.
In conclusion, Id say the magic has left the building at this "value" resort.

Where do I begin ...... We chose to stop here to take advantage of the accessible buses, as my partner is a full-time wheelchair user. We never experienced any of the issues with the wait times for the busses, it always felt like there was another just around the corner. But on staying that, commenting on the buses provided by Disney Transportation takes the spotlight away from an amazing group of people, and just a hotel in general.

When we booked the hotel, our travel agent ensured us that the hotel would be accessible for her needs, but unfortunately, this turned out not to be the case. Our holiday would have had to end there if it hadn't been for the magic provided by Disney and the team at All Stars Movies. They went out of their way to ensure her stay was comfortable, providing us with an added adaption to the room which was necessary to fulfil her needs. We will never be able to thank them enough for this, as it ensured we was able to enjoy the holiday at Disney stress free.

All of the staff we met were friendly, courteous, engaging and always looking to offer to help in any way possible. From the housekeeping team, the desk staff, the food hall staff and even the staff in the gift shop. This all adds to such a memorable experience as they are people you will not forget meeting for all the right reasons.

The hotel room was always clean, along with the general corridors, lifts, food hall and public areas. The brief moment you did spot any spillage or rubbish, it was always immediately cleaned up before you looked again; you sometimes can't account for peoples willingness to create a mess in a public space, but the cast members always had it under control.

I loved the theming and noticed that from the photos I had seen before we arrived at the place and definitely begun a process of an update. It all has a great theming if you love the Disney classics, and we both spent a lot of time just wandering around the resort. The renovation currently being undertaken in some buildings is barely noticeable, I couldn't understand how they operated so quickly and so quietly.

Overall I would definitely recommend for anyone to stay here, especially for someone with disabilities who may need a little extra support. They do seem to be much more willing to accommodate then most. We did explore some of the other resorts, and they just didn't have the same charm that is found at All Star Movies. My only two regrets are not staying longer, and not picking up more branded items to add to our memory box.

Thank you again to the All Star Movies team for making our stay a magical one,

Evan & Abi

If you are expecting a high standard of room or facilities then this isn't the place for you. On the plus side, you do get the extra magic hours, you do have free transportation to the parks and Disney Springs and you can charge everything back to the room.

So now the negatives; the extra magic hours for Hollywood Studios are a waste
of time, because they are in evening. To ensure that you get on the Star Wars rides you have to be at the park at 6am at the latest. To benefit from the "extra hours" you will have been in the park 14-15 hours already! The buses are also a problem; the queues for Hollywood Studios start well before 5.30am and as noted if you are not there very very early you will not got a slot for the Star Wars ride, so you end up taking the car and paying $25. Better to pay for parking than write off the cost of your tickets because you couldn't get on one of the buses in time.

The rooms are of a very low standard and comparable to a Motel 6. Small, cramped with very basic facilities. The food available at the hotel is also of a poor standard; over priced fast food served in a food court.

If you are looking for a place just to sleep because you plan on spending all day in the parks then the hotel is probably fine but be aware of some of the current issues or you may well be very disappointed.

Karl, I appreciate this candid review of your stay at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort and I'm sorry to hear it wasn't the blockbuster stay you had hoped to have. I’m also sorry that it appeared the World Premiere Food Court did not have a wide selection of menu offerings. You are always welcome to visit Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort & Disney’s All-Star Music Resort to try their Food Courts to get a wider range of options. Now that many of our Resort dining locations offer Mobile ordering, it's a convenient way to order ahead and then pick up your food once you've found a table. We want all of our Guests to feel comfortable and at home during their stay. If your next visit is a bit longer and you're looking for more space in your room and additional amenities, you may enjoy one of our Moderate Resorts. I'd recommend checking for a tower room at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. This new sixteen-story tower has some stunning views and easy access to the main pool area and bus stops for our complimentary bus service. Wherever you choose to stay, we look forward to your next visit and hope to see you again real soon! Ginny Disney Social Reviews

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights when visiting Disney with family. The property is definitely dated, and while it is a “value” property, it is certainly not inexpensive.

The pros: Service was very good at the front desk, gift store, and quick service restaurant. The room was comfortable with good sleep quality, comfy beds, and dark and quiet. Showers were good with lots of hot water and good water pressure. They provided plenty of towels, pillows, and blankets. The room has a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee pot and they provided paper plates and plastic cutlery. The room was comfortable for a family of four.

The cons: We were misdirected several times when trying to print boarding passes, one time being told to ask the concierge that I am pretty sure does not exist in this hotel (at least in 4 days, I never saw a concierge). The computer system was down one day and they were checking people out by tablet. The buses were pretty consistent but most did not show on the app so we had no idea when one was coming. I really would prefer a sit down restaurant. All of the paper plates and cups were wrapped in individual plastic wrappers - I would much prefer real plates and cups and some dish soap.

Staying here always makes me feel like the star of my vacation! The magic of the movies is celebrated everywhere you look from fun-in-the-sun to whimsical decor. The friendly Cast Members always treat our Guests like celebrities, and I am so glad you were able to share this with your family. It certainly sounds like there were a few hiccups at the front desk during your stay. It is understandable how this, combined with problems with the bus schedule, can have an impact on your overall experience. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate you sharing this feedback. After a long day in our Theme Parks, it can be so nice to sit down and enjoy a meal with your family. For your next visit, I suggest checking out Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. This Resort hotel offers a variety of dining locations from Quick Service to lovely lounges. I think staying here would make your mealtime more magical. We hope you will join us again soon for more magical memories. Anna Disney Social Reviews

The water stopped working while I was giving my kids a bath on the 2nd day we arrived. We had to relocate rooms from one building to another that was not close by and pack/unpack again. We missed our dining reservation and did not get to utilize our pass to the park. Do not waste your time or money staying at this Zombie resort. They do not clean your room let alone let alone refill the shampoo or conditioner. I had to ask numerous times and they gave me a plastic cup of it instead. Housekeeping barged in even with your Do not disturb sign on your door and WITHOUT knocking at 7AM! Food court cancelled our food order a few times for some weird reason because you can only order through your mobile phone. You have to wait outside in a small hallway where it got crowded. The shuttle is a waste of time since they can only take a few people due to Covid. We waited at least an hour to 2 hours that we decided to take Lyft instead and wasted our $ for a service that is included during your stay. I would never stay at this resort again. The manager was rude and the employees lack professionalism. At one point a security guard almost my kids with their golf cart. It also took 30 minutes to order drinks outside by the pool with only one employee helping a long line. The magic is lost in Disney. Do not COME!!! It was a nightmare and I wont be back with my family.

My kids loved our stay at All Star Movies! It was their first visit to Disney and they loved the giant characters, the Fantasia pool, the arcade, and the food court. We stayed in the Toy Story section and the outdoor theming was adorable and impressive. The rooms are motel style, and very small, but have a great amount of storage and we were comfortable there for a week. My only complaint was that the wait for busses can be exceedingly long. We waited close to an hour, twice. The first was for a bus to the Magic Kingdom for a 6:15 dinner reservation at Chef Mickey’s in the Contemporary. We got in line at 5:00, and at 5:45, there was still no bus. There is really no excuse for that. However when we told the concierge they called us a cab and gave us a voucher to pay for it, which absolutely made the situation right. We found the staff kind and helpful in every situation. The food in the food court was good quality and even though the air was chilly we spent time at the pool several days during our week. My 7 year old son loved ending his evenings in the arcade, which had a fun selection of modern and retro games. The gift shop on site was convenient and had a great selection of souvenirs and the staff there was wonderful as well. We were very happy with our stay and would absolutely recommend it to friends on a budget traveling with small kids. It met our needs and helped make our kids’ first Disney experience memorable!

Ahhh, I get you and you'd need to dry your swimwear somehow and not pack it away wet. There's 2x blocks, we only used the Duck one next to our room so the bigger pool block might have one. We were lucky our Uber wasnt picking us up till midday so had enough time to shuttle bus to Magic Kingdom for 5 or so rides after we checked out and left our bags with the hotel.

The rooms have a beverage cooler (not a mini fridge). They keep drinks cool, but I don't know how well they would do for things like yogurt or milk. There is a toaster and a microwave in the food court (main building) but not in the rooms themselves.

We were on a ground floor and I don’t recall hearing a lot of noise from the room above us.
