Hi guys! I have uncommon situation. Please share your experience if somebody got the same.

I applied for the student visa and included my husband (we applied in one application together, not separately). We declared my husband’s suspended criminal conviction which was canceled last year. My visa was granted last month, but there is not still any response about my husband’s!

I am a bit curious because it is one application and I thought it should be one response for both, but it is not.

At first, I thought It was a mistake and wrote to immigration office, they answered that my spouse application at character and security check. They did not mention VACCU particular.

How do you think did they send it to VACCU?

I heard that it should be any notifications, but I did not get it. I wrote and asked them, but have not still any information.

While it is on one application, they look at both applicants. My understand is these student visa are commonly on one application. As it is on one application, if one of you breach the Visa Conditions both will have Visa cancelled.

While they might not have stated VACCU, they have advise that they have by saying a Character and Security check. That is what VACCU is all about.

So what happen now ? The Australian Government is now putting together the information to consider the application. These are often a long drawn out process.

What is happening now? They are making inquiries in his Passport Country with the Government.

How do you think I can influence on this process? Should I write VACCU or Minister of immigration to ask for prioritization?

I know this will sound harsh, but why should your application be prioritised over any other?

I don't believe there is any way to influence the process.
