Bend and snap for joy! A Legally Blonde prequel is in the works at Prime Video. Called Elle, the series is going to follow Reese Witherspoon's iconic character Elle Woods through her high-school years, showing "the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film," according to a release from the streamer.

Legally Blonde, which was based on Amanda Brown's novel of the same name, was released in 2001. The hit movie went on to spawn a sequel, 2003's Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, as well as 2009's direct-to-DVD movie Legally Blondes and a Broadway production. Witherspoon confirmed back in 2018 that a third Legally Blonde film was in the works
