The Hotel Alhambra Palace exudes a sense of grandeur, with its luxurious, historic charm enchanting some guests, while others find the decor somewhat outdated. Despite its praised location near the Alhambra and Granada's center, the hotel's value for money is questioned by many travelers, who cite high rates not matched by the decor. Cleanliness and service typically receive high marks, showcasing well-furnished rooms and dedicated staff. Opinions on the rooms vary, with some guests appreciating their spaciousness and others suggesting updates are needed.

What an amazing place, what a fantastic service, hospitality throughout.
From the moment we arrived we fell in love with this hotel. After traveling for about 2 weeks and staying in several Paradore hotels we arrived at the Hotel Alhambra Palace. What a difference compared to all other hotels we stayed at. Finally we were warmly greeted upon arrival by the front desk and were helped kindly with our luggage and car by the on duty security officer.
We were fortunate to have a room overlooking the city of Granada and also had a stunning view of the with snow covered mountain tops of the Sierra Nevada. Our room was spacious, clean and offered all that may be expected from a room in a 5* hotel. Bathroom with marble and tiles on the wall to remind you the Alhambra is just a few minute walk away from the hotel.
It is always a pleasure receiving a small welcome note and in addition to that some nice cookies in the shape of tiles you will see at the Alhambra representing “water”.
Besides the beautiful interior of the hotel and that the hotel is spotless clean, the hotel just has a very nice smell everywhere.
Breakfast is a full buffet breakfast, fresh products and Nespresso Coffee. The hostess in the morning will welcome you, escort you to your table and explains the buffet. If you arrive in time you can be seated at the window side of the restaurant and enjoy the view over the city whilst having breakfast.
Drinks at the bar properly served by the kind and helpful employees.
Your room is obviously serviced daily and well looked after. Housekeeping team is kind, friendly and like all other staff members really focused on the guests.
After a long morning visiting the Alhambra it is nice to be able to just walk back to your hotel, relax a bit before continuing your visit to this great cultural historic place.

We had a fantastic stay and do highly recommend this hotel! The hotel is a historic and iconic building with a fantastic team that shows sincere interest in their guests.

Thank you so much Team Hotel Alhambra Palace for making our trip extra special.

Last December we stayed at Alhambra Palace hotel in Granada for a couple of nights. The hotel is a walking distance (less than 10 minutes) from the Alhambra Palace. It is also 15-20 minutes from the city center. We booked a junior suite which is placed in the basement. The design of the hotel is inspired by the architecture of the Alhambra Palace. The place is really nice, the staff are helpful.

The staff at the breakfast and lunch would benefit from some customer service training. Other than this, I highly recommend the hotel.

Here are some pictures of the hotel

Really handily located just outside the walls of the Alhambra it has a grand old hotel feel with wide carpeted staircases, liveried staff at the door, big spaces for the dining room and terrace and lovely old comfy rooms with nice touches like bathrobes. Staff are terrific - friendly and helpful and multilingual. Great views of the city too from being so high up. Very happy I booed here.

We had an excellent experience at this hotel. The staff were very attentive and gracious and a pleasure to deal with. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of healthy fresh entrées as well as traditional Spanish breakfast, food. In other places in Spain, I had difficulty finding fresh vegetables, but this breakfast buffet provided is an abundance of delicious healthy, fresh entrées, as well as gourmet chocolate.

The location is ideal if you want to explore and walk the beautiful gardens and grounds of Alhambra, and have walking access to city Center. Small details, such as quality sheets and toiletries and shower added to the Joy of staying here. Staying here was a real pleasure, and we hope to come back.

Great location close to the Alhambra with stunning views from its bar terrace.
The concierge was very helpful in immediately and graciously printing off our Alhambra visitors tickets which we had forgotten to print off at home.
The bedroom was small and the window at the side disappointing but the large bed very comfortable. Shower and bathroom facilities worked well although the bathroom was a little cramped. The bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch.
We didn’t dine/breakfast at the hotel as we choose to eat independently but the bar service and view were fabulous.
It is a 10 minute stroll down the hill to Plaza Nuevo where we found cafes and tapas bars a plenty.... the walk back up was pleasant and not too taxing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would consider staying here again.

If you want to get as close as you can to experiencing what it might have been like to live in the Alhambra palace than staying at the Alhambra palace hotel is as good as it gets. Within a short walking distance to the famed palace, this hotel has a beautiful overlook to the city of Granada. Every aspect of the hotel has the full Mudejar architectural aesthetic on display. the staff are multilingual and able to change money at the front desk. They were able to hold our bags because we arrived early and even placed them in our room for us when we out visiting the palace. I only wish we had had more time to take in the beautiful restaurant and patio area. The only downside to the hotel is that it is at the top of the hill and away from the downtown area. That said the front door is footsteps away from a taxi stand that is always bustling so grabbing a cab into town is easy and will run you about 8 to 10 euro.

The breakfast has a good range (understaffed though), the restaurant has amazing view.
Reception Desk , Staff all very polite and wonderful .
The palace is around 1 km walk , its walking up so a bit tiring . the city of Granada would be around 1.5 kms walk down the mountain .
best is to use shuttle n taxis (easily available outside the Hotel)
the views of Sierra Nevada is wonderful, lot of treking options . Do spend 2 nights aleast . its worth it

This hotel is a first rate luxury hotel noted for its history and exceptional location. Located a short walk from Alhambra and situated with a panoramic view of the snow capped Sierra Nevada mountains, this hotel is truly an experience. The terrace restaurant has great lunches and serves fabulous cocktails. What better view than the distant mountains and the cascading red tiled roofs of the terrace side while drinking cocktails or coffee? The hotel was a casino club at one time, so there’s beautiful historic tile work and other period decor. Bathrooms are modern with deep bathtubs. Only drawback is there aren’t any other restaurants nearby, so choosing the breakfast option is important. Two nights booking is adequate. I did another booking to a hotel in the lower city historic area, and it’s easier to explore Granada from there.

This hotel is well situated near the Alhambra and has a beautiful overlook of Granada, with a nice terrace cafe (with helpful staff and tasty cafe dining experience). The lobby has a stately feel and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. But, that is where the compliments end and why a 3 star rating. One of the most important aspects of a hotel, especially an alleged 5 star hotel, is the guest room and that’s where this hotel miserably fails. Although the junior suite was large, the bathroom was small, dated and impractical. I understand a desire to remain sensitive to the hotel’s era, but the room decor was gaudy and the limited furniture was outright uncomfortable. The bed was also uncomfortable. It gave zero desire for one to stay in the room. Given the room, there is no chance I could ever recommend this hotel, unless it was the last available 4 or 5 star hotel.

Thank you also for your kind words about our location near the Alhambra, beautiful views of Granada, nice terrace-cafeteria, friendly and helpful staff and tasty gastronomic experience. The Alhambra Palace Hotel is a bit of a legend in these parts. The architecture is stunning and you are 5 minutes walk from the Palace itself. The views over the city from the terrace are wonderful. Excellent service throughout. It is a hotel of yesteryear but I mean this kindly. It is a wonderful space to be in. Easy walk down into the City but you may want a taxi back as it is uphill - taxis readily available and reasonably priced. Rooms are very comfortable and crisp white bedlinen is lovely to slide into after a long hot summer day in the City !

Yes the best way to get to the hotel is a cab. I don’t recall the fare but it was reasonable. Once in town your best way to get around is the hop on/hop off which has a stop in front of the hotel but most places of interest are within walking distances. Enjoy
