Brittany Howard has released the latest collaboration off her Jaime Reimagined LP, this one featuring Childish Gambino giving his take on “Stay High”. The reconstructed version of the Alabama Shakes singer’s debut solo album is out on Friday, July 23rd.

Childish Gambino—a.k.a. entertainment industry Renaissance man Donald Glover—was handed quite the assignment when he was given the reigns over Jaime‘s highest-charting track, currently sitting at over 25 million streams on Spotify. The singer/rapper/producer handles the track with care as he largely stays true to the glossy original version, keeping Howard’s dreamy vocals front and center. One of his key contributions is added drum tracks that give the originally chilled-out single a new swaggering sense of confidence.

There were no rules,” Howard said of the project. “This reimagination project has been no different. I have been honored to have so many incredible artists from all musical worlds interpret my songs in such interesting and different ways.”
