- I got a super clean copy from Sound of Vinyl. Stereo pressing sounds great. Cleaned with my Record Doctor before playing.
- Edited 9 months agoI was a bit on the fence on this one after I listened to it on Qobuz; glad I bought it, flat and quiet, and the vinyl is sounding better to my ears. Perfect pressing.
referencing New York, N.Y. (CD, Album, Reissue) MCAD-31371
It is listed as narration but it is proto rap, and it is quite entertaining. Beat poetry, sly observations and some witty wordplay then the ass kicking tunes that capture that New York kind of sound... excellent recording and digital transfer.- What the hell? My copy came with a piece of junk embedded on the vinyl causing 20 seconds of pops with each rotation. Pressing is also pretty crackly when turned up.
- Sounds great and silent vinyl. Never play a new record without a good clean, I use Audio Desk Ultrasonic clean. I enjoyed it!
- Clean, quiet pressing plus the music is Excellent. I’m very happy with this purchase from Acoustic Sounds.
- My MINT LP is clean sounding...but beyond that the music is tops...Best guys in the studios back in 1958 in The Big Apple...Even a young Doc Severinsen is aboard on the trumpet...What is amazing it sounds totally contemporary here in 2021...That's like SIXTY-THREE years ago...And the Beatnik rap at the head of cut one is awesome...You have to hear it to appreciate the cool vibes it delivers...I lucked out on this one...A "what the heck" order turned into an audio gold mine...Methinks you'll feel the same about Mr. Russell and his crew...
- My copy is clean throughout although I did give it a good wet clean before playing. Quiet, no noise. Recommended!
