My wife and I were looking to escape the cold and have a nice vacation where we'd heard there would be great food, so on a whim, we booked the El Dorado Seaside Suites. I didn't know that much about it yet, so joined the facebook group (highly recommend this btw) and read all about it. Turned out we were on the Sensimar (old) side, which was much quieter than the new Seaside Suites side, but I didn't mind that at all, as we're a fairly private couple, and tend to keep to ourselves. Warning warning warning Stayed 3 weeks for our honeymoon Having worked in 5 stars properties this is my review: -Not “suites” but long rooms ... -This hotel doesn’t live up to expectations, only the restaurants are as per description -For a 3 year hold property the rooms are rundown *You will have dangerous issues with water condensation on the floor if you open your balcony door or if your ventilation system should fail (an issue we had during our stay) housekeeping had to bring a load of towels to cover the floor so we would not slip on the outrageous amount of water that formed on the floor. *You will find mildew on the sealing of the washroom area ,particularly on the part above the jacuzzi bath ...don’t look up if you want to relax ( validated with other guests) *The…

My partner and I just came back from El Dorado and we feel like we need a vacation from this vacation! Let me start off by saying the staff is super friendly and they all work very hard from the wait staff to the grounds keepers to management. But aside from the wonderful staff we didn’t enjoy our stay. A little background information about the resort - El Dorado is shared with its sister resort called Sensimar. Sensimar is the old El Dorado and you can use either property. A lot of restaurants are on the Sensimar side so you do have to do a bit of walking or take a golf cart. Please rest assured we have addressed your comments about food and beverage and evening entertainment with the corresponding department heads for their internal review, which will help us to perfect the quality of our service and ensure our guests have a luxurious environment to enjoy their vacation experience here in Caribbean. The hotel has created artificial reefs along their coastline in order to help to restore the natural balance to our reef systems, which has been lost due to human activities and natural disasters. The artificial reef is a very ambitious project but once it is finished it will become the largest artificial reef in the world and we will have an excellent beach. We are very sorry that the smell from the seaweed had affected your vacation experience. We are pleased to announce that the first eco-friendly nets were installed by the government in Cancun on 8th August 2018, allowing sea animals and creatures to move freely, while stopping the Sargasso seaweed coming to our beaches. These nets will allow to channel seaweed flow to the specific designed areas ashore for collection. The mesh is being installed from Cancun all the way through Riviera Maya till Tulum within the near future, which will allow us to have pristine clear water white sand beaches for you to enjoy again. This resort is by far the absolute best.. I have been going to Mexico for about 15 years , stayed a many different resorts. El dorado seaside suits beats the crap out of all the ones before. El dorado is snuggled in the jungle just north of Tulume. The staff is warm and happy , rooms are spacious and very clean . Resort and guests are very gay friendly. I can’t even begin to say how off the charts the food is, 11 restaurants served us dinners that were comparable to a 150.00 meal in the states. The grounds are clean with winding paths through a beautiful jungle setting.. My wife and I just returned yesterday after 10 days at El Dorado Seaside Suites. In summary, it was amazing! Very sad to leave, but work and responsibilities called us back to reality. If you expect perfection, you will be able to find fault. But if you can roll with things, you'll have the time of your life. I'll try to address what may be important to you. Service? Top notch! From check-in to the bellboy tour to the waitstaff, everyone is smiling, attentive, and hustling. My husband and I traveled to the El Dorado Seaside Feb 9 - 16th. We had an absolutely wonderful time, and loved both the hotel and the staff - the customer service truly was above and beyond at this property. We were a little confused the first evening, trying to find the Seaside lobby, but once we figured out where we were going, it was amazing! We booked a main floor swim out suite, and were located in building 7. We were very happy with both the room, and our location. The main floor swim up rooms are equipped with both a double sized Bali bed and a seating area (two chairs and a table), as well as two lounge chairs on a shallow platform in the pool. We visited EDSS late December for 1 week and had a nice holiday. The resort is very well maintained and seems to play up the natural beauty of the trees and plants. It was simple but beautiful. Lots of lush palm trees! The layout of the resort was not ideal but we got used to it. Walking between resorts was easy but getting back to the EDSS lobby where some of the restaurants are required either a shuttle or a long (but pretty) walk. EDSS is where we slept but we spent all our time at the Sensimar which was a very short walk from EDSS. Our room was perfectly nice, large and comfortable and the view was great. I stayed at El Dorado for a week with my boyfriend a couple weeks ago. I'll try to organize my thoughts to the best of my ability to make this review as helpful as possible. In a nutshell, the service was exceptional, the room was very nice, location and outdoor facilities were beautiful but the food was disappointing. Pre-vacation: Excellent Very impressed with the consistent follow-up. Going to clarify something about this resort I wish I had known before booking- there are three resorts clustered together. El dorado (the newest part-it wasn't completed yet-they were still working on it when we were there). Then in the middle is Hidden Beach resort- a nudist resort that is fenced off. This means walking on the beach from el dorado stops there due to fence. On other side of hidden beach is Sensimar suites- which is where I wish I had stayed. Lovely Mexico style suites with the only good beach. As el dorado guest you have access to sensimar's beach, bars and restaurants( not hidden beach).Sensimar has a nice swimmable beach that isn't completely rocky. But getting a beach bed/chair is tough since most guests end up here. It's a ten minute walk from el dorado…

My hubby and I returned to El Dorado Seaside Suites (AKA our favorite place in the world) this last March to celebrate our anniversary and also to check out all the new additions that EDS has been working on for so long. We were quite worried we wouldn't like the new addition and that it would seem too "corporate looking" or "mainstream" compared to the quaintness of the older part of the property that we originally fell in love with.
